A few things

Surprisinginly, noone I talk to knows of the movie Plan Nine from Outer Space, despite the Ed Wood movie coming out with Johnny Depp.

It's about aliens who plan to bring the dead to life and take over the world with it.

It's very cult, and amazingly campy.  But the best about it, is it is hilarious despite it's attempt to be serious.  :)

It's horrible in the sense of a serious movie, but who really looks to it like that?  Even the timing is off several times.  ^^ I've watched it often.

Books

Also, there is Avalon: The Return of King Arthur.  About a man in modern times who finds out he's meant to become King Arthur and regain control of England.  It's an amazingly written book.

A Time to Be Born - Set in modern times.  Two women trying to live in the large city and find love as well as adapt.

Snowfall by K.M. Peyton.  This book won me over when I got it for free from my a library at one of the schools my dad worked at.  It's well written and is nice.  It follows Charlotte as she leaves her vicar home and climbs mountains, ending up living with a high class man and falling in love with two men.  "Everyone loved somebody else who didn't love anyone at all." is written on tha back and I believe it.
It's simple to a point, and doesn't get too deep, but it was great when I as younger, and it sitll holds a fond place in my heart.

The House on Hound Hill - A wonderful tale of a young woman who passes between time, back and forth as she nearly falls for a young man from London in the time of the plague.

cult, mythology
