When I was in primary school I was obsessed, I mean literally obsessed with a book called "The Owl Who Was Afraid of the Dark" about a baby barn owl called Plop who (surprise surprise) was afraid of the dark and meets all these people who tell him about all the good things about the night like fireworks and Santa and such like. Anyone else like it?

Aww, yes! That was our class reading book when we were in Year One or possibly Year Two in Primary school... we all had to read it together, and that may have been the first time I read ahead of the class because I was enjoying it so much, hehe.

Plop was so cute... and the fireworks bit was the best. Along with the cat, if I remember rightly...

I've never heard of it but Plop is such a great name for a wee owl!

Never heard of the book, but I do work with Barn Owls...and I've never met one who didn't like the dark! (I know, random.)

Oh I remember this - It was in Infant school - and I used to see it in the library afterwards and sneak a quick look when I was choosing my 'grown up' books! - It was cute!
