best medication for allergic reaction?

I seem to have suddenly developed a mild allergy to nuts. I just get crazy itchy all over, no hives and no tingling/swelling of the mouth or tongue thankfully.

But I really hate the itchiness and I was wondering what was the best thing to treat just that. I don't have any other symptoms so I don't think I need to use anything like Benadryll. Suggestions.

Also, unfortunately I really like nuts and was wondering could the reaction get worse if I still ate them.
