Spent four days at a conference, and did not once mention my job without either apologizing for or rationalizing it. This is probably a good sign that I should continue to keep my eyes open for other opportunities. The more time that passes between Yuletide closing and assignments going out, the more convinced I become that I have made horrible mistakes in every possible way. Wheeeeeeeee.....In watching-things news, I haven't watched The Secret of NIMH yet. The tab's still open. It's taunting me.
I did catch up on Chase on Hulu, though, and I'm rather enjoying it. Apparently it airs at 10pm? ER and NYPD Blue are the only examples of 10pm shows that I can think of, and Chase seems much more like an 8pm/9pm show. I guess there's a bit of more mature content, but it doesn't seem like it's central to the show. Maybe this is a side effect of the failed Jay Leno experiment?
And speaking of NBC, there's some mid-season replacement called The Cape. As in the thing super heroes wear, not the place in Massachusetts. The description on the website is: "They took his name, his city and his family and now he's taking it all back. This January the world's next superhero is not in theaters." I am cautiously optimistic. The Colts are making me sad this year :( After years of not caring about any of the New York area sports teams, I may manage to end the season as a Jets fan, on the basis of their head coach, who is both ridiculous and wicked smart, and their QB, who did amazing things today, and also goes to lots of Broadway shows. (he's the one who somewhat-inexplicably presented at the Tony Awards this year).
these are not real problems,
