Unbridled
Unbridled
Stallion and aquamarine sky
stand together
on the prairie
and the wind waves to them
by virtue of tall grasses
a green welcome
to fair companions.
Unbridled
Dapples and Grays
no slaves, no strays
loyal to freedom
where spirit plays
and they walk without masters
as only those who never had one
can.
Unbridled
Mustang runs across the mesa
in thirsty
full gallops
quenching its heart
with each thunderous hoof
heartbeat and stride
glorious without pride.
Unbridled
man
watches them when he can,
and learns when he is not ready.
