Dance?

So apparently there is to be a masquerade ball - I suppose I should attend breakfast more often, if this sort of announcement is mixed in with the usual fare.  Beauxbatons always had lovely dances...I never attended them (I was too young at the time), but sometimes I helped decorate the hall.  I liked taking advantage of the extended curfew so I ( Read more... )

Francis? Oh, I *ink splattered hesitation marks* yes, I suppose, if you'd like, I mean, that would be fine. I mean, I would like that. But you might have to teach me how to dance.

It would be a lot of fun! We can get dinner beforehand! Oh, that'll be no problem at all.

Dinner? Oh, of course. Where should we go for dinner? Do you even have time to do something like that? What if I'm terrible at it.

We could go to Madam Puddifoot's. I'm not sure if there is a dinner menu there... I could prepare something, too. I can make time for you. Don't worry; it's impossible to be bad at it.

I think I have seen this place in Hogsmeade. It looked...rather pink. Perhaps it would be better to eat in, no? You are too kind. I suppose if it is footwork like dueling, I might be alright.

I heard it's really nice... but yes. I don't think the house elves would mind if I borrowed their kitchen. You can look at it that way. A waltz, for example, has specific footwork that repeats so... it's sort of similar.

Perhaps I should bring some wine? I believe I still have a bottle I picked up in Calais... I was not entirely truthful, I did learn to foxtrot and perhaps waltz at one point, but it was quite a long time ago, so I'm not sure how good I'd be at it now.

That would be wonderful! Do you know what kind of wine? I need to be sure to prepare something that complements it. Oh? I think you'll be fine, then. But I can still teach you, if you'd like.

Erm, it is a white one, I believe? Something from the '70s, and it was a southern region of France. I'd have to check the bottle to be sure.

Like I said, it was some time ago, so I wouldd appreciate a refresher.

Hmm... I have a general idea on what I can prepare then. You have no objections to fish or chicken, correct?

Great! We can meet sometime at your convenience.

Chicken would be preferable - living so long on the coast, I got a little sick of seafood, I have to admit.

Perhaps this weekend would be ideal?

Understandable. I'll mull it over and come up with something spectacular.

That will be excellent. We can practice in my classroom.
