Part of a post made on a messageboard about the current Iraq war:
"It's hard to make jokes out of actions that have caused Trillions of dollars and hundreds of thousands of lives to be wasted."
My reply:
"Please, people. Can we not make up facts and figures? The dollar toll has been eleventy pavilionvermillion and the death toll has been over zeight brazillionbillion."
Really, is it that hard to make your argument without making things up? I've made it a point to ask for sources whenever a figure or percentage or statistic or whatever comes up. Even if that means it's an offhanded comment from a classmate during a smoke break, I don't care. I will politely request that you cite your source. I'm tired of people throwing numbers around.
Although, I'm rather fond of making up numbers like "zeight brazillionbillion."
