inês (lj stillframed) said your chiaroscuro gallery was one of her favourites <3
you are wonderful, karolina. i am thinking of sending little gifts to everyone on the zine as soons as i have money to do so. this morning the italian ragazzo, giovanni, asked me if i hadn't thought of doing an exhibition of it!!!! :O i actually hadn't and just the thought of it makes me nervous... i don't think i could put up something like that. sometimes just the online version kicks my ass because there's so much to think about! :\ i don't know, we'll see.
anyway, right now i'm thinking of a paper version of the zine. i'll be researching, so if you know anything let me know ;)) i wanted to make a paper zine with the best of each 3 issues. what do you think?
we had a visiting teacher from poland in my college a few months ago, i forgot to tell you!!it was really nice, she went to my english class and we got to talk about both portugal and poland and the pope since he had passed away two days before... and so many other things! i wish you had been there ****
it is just me or you are online as i write this? great!! i just wanted to know which is your website host. i need one that is cheap cheap cheap and has plenty of space for my crazy new ideas
hey, yes i am in front of the computer - i should be working :)
i use a polish host netlook.pl but i don't think their site has an english version. erm, their plans & pricing are here - i think you should understand which plan offers how much space and monthly transfer, and the money conversion is roughly 1 euro for 4 zlotys. take a look, and i can help you out with translating, if you're interested. actually, it was agata who recommended them to me and i've been with them since i put my site up in september. i think they are reliable and cheap.
that's funny about ines - i emailed her to say i loved her chiaroscuro gallery! reciprocated love, ahhh! :)
a paper version of chiaroscuro zine would be awesome! i have never made a zine myself although i wanted really badly to - so if you come up with any bright ideas, please share :) you might want to check out this link about binding, and this place prints pictures all bookishly but they are sort of expensive (around 30 euros per book), so this could rather be a chiaroscuro zine annual special edition kind of thing, maybe? :)
and i'm afraid the exhibition concept is so tempting, it might be growing on you :) that would be fabulous - another reason to visit portugal! i so wish i could visit, and it sounds nice about the poish teacher in your college. too bad she had such an uneasy time around the pope's death, it was a huge thing here in poland. well, anyway, i realize it'a a hell of a job to organize such an event, so it's entirely up to you. maybe some time in the future?
you may talk in my journal in portuguese all you want! you may even say nasty things about me behind my back because you only thought me nice portuguese words so i won't understand anyway :)
where's my straw sun hat? where are my flip flops? would i fit into my bikini this year? ahh, yes, it would be great. would i only knew what to do with those two cats of mine :)
and imagine how good it would be to look at our dear zine in paper. i almost cry because it's such a nice fantasy lol. comes right in 3rd place after #1 saving the world & #2 becoming a writer eheheh
i think that a 3monthly paper edition would avoid selling it too expensive; check the prices at the drama store, most of them are really cheap, like 6 eur or something. for instance, you see http://www.thedramastore.org/item.php?id=408 for 50$ / 4 issues
e-mailing those zines' editors might be helpful also, and talking to joana linda too. i mean, she's the goddess of getting these kinds of things done ; ))
thank you for the links, i will check them out and later i'll tell you what i think.
i'll go out now and buy some juicy stuff for the travelling journal. i'm actually not e-mailing anyone about it today but tomorrow i'll stay at home all day doing it and eventually will send it by mail to the first person who shall get it on monday :D
and you know what, maybe i'll also start doing little zines, all different, and offer them to friends and sell them to the rest of the people, if anyone wants them. 4/6 pages zine, something simple but sweet!!
ahh, that sounds luscious about a trimonthly paper edition of chiaroscuro! i hope you can do it.
no hurry about the travelling journal although i can't wait :)
and if you ever do a little zine, please reserve a copy for me!
yeah, becoming a writier is probably the cheapest of your dreams, especially when you do it in your spare time and have another source of incame secured :)
hey, i'm off to do some work now. we'll talk later! muitos beijinhos in return! :*
