Headcanoned Timeline
This timeline is based on the age of Takuya, Christine Kamogawa, and Romancing Meowzilla. Takuya is born at the end of OTO and is six in OTO2. Christine Kamogawa dreams of the actor from Romancing Meowzilla. It makes more sense that she would dream of a star instead of a businessman, as he was in OTO. Romancing Meowzilla wasn't based on Nyaragon's attack. They may have similar giant attacking cats, but the plots are different. One would think Fuji Number 1 would have made an appearance. Since Japan was previously attacked by a giant mouse, who's to say they haven't been attacked by many other animals? Nyaragon had been given a name, so perhaps that wasn't the first attack. Also the guy in "Sk8ter Boi" is not Tsuyoshi Hanada from the first OTO levels. Therefore, he has not already gotten his job in New York. He looks more like the reporter from "Survivor."
- Year 1: OTO -- Takuya parents get together, and he is born by the end; Hajime Tanaka's first year as with the Yuuhi Ouendan, first mission "Loop & Loop"; EBA barely exists with only a few agents but believes that other cheer groups exist because someone in Japan rallied people to stop the meteor
- Year 2:
- Year 3:
- Year 4:
- Year 5: pre-EBA -- By now, all Agents besides Spin have joined the Agency, as the EBA are a secret organization, coming across others that can hear the Music is by chance and recruiting them takes time as they can't merely promote their abilities; by contrast, the Ouendan are much more outgoing and public with their abilities, they are known amongst the people
- Year 6: EBA -- Spin's first year as an agent, first mission "Walkie-Talkie Man"; Japan is one of the first hit by Rhombulans (because the Ouendan wouldn't have taken that); EBA decide they would lead the push back after realizing that mystery group that saved the world from the meteor wasn't starting something (hence the waiting until many were in camps)
- Year 7: OTO2 -- Takuya is six years old; Shinta Kikuchi's first year with the Asahi Ouendan who he is introduced to after meeting Saionji in a sports gym, they actively start to cheer (upsetting the Yuuhi) because they believed the Yuuhi Ouendan couldn't handle the job anymore (see Rhombulans), Kikuchi's first mission "Real Life Real Heart";The Ouendan save the sun going out (EBA joined in and rallied people in the States, didn't know who started the effort, just that someone did, and they would help); EBA gets tired of not knowing who the other group(s) is and goes to Japan (where the E.O.M. showed the rally started); The two Ouendan teams meet the EBA for the first time and they make friends =)

Personal Melodies and the Music
In the world, there are two main types of music that Music Sense allows people to hear, personal and that of the overall world.
Personal melodies are a unique rhythm or beat belonging to a single entity. A person can be identified by it. The main sound is relatively unchangeable as it is tied to a person’s inner spirit (which exists after death and can be found in inanimate objects or even something microscopic like a white blood cell), but the rest is based on a multitude of factors: current feelings, past experiences, and so on. For example, if someone feels stressed, his beats may sound more chaotic and jarring than usual. It’s like a remix, the original element is still there, but it has also changed. This is also what allows targets to be found. Negative emotions and situations cause someone to sound down. The more intense the feeling is, the louder it is. This applies to positive emotions as well. Changes in the tune related to changes in how one thinks or feels and can even hint to how a person is going to move.
There is a deaf spot. A person cannot hear one’s own melody.
The Music (capital M) is the combination of the melodies of everyone and everything. It is a powerful force that can be a great motivator when channeled correctly. It contains untold amounts of energy when used right. How the Music sounds at any given time depends on the situation; songs will rise from whatever is happening. If one fully utilized the right one(s), the task or goal will become easier and unimaginable things start to occur. Many times people won’t know what is going on, just that something is, and follow along. Those that do are told how to move to better channel the Music through their bodies, around them, to their target. It should be noted that an attempt to channel the Music as a motivator is always a risk. Failure leaves the target and those involved worse off than before, worse than if they never tried to help. An Agent or Ouendan and also sync up with the Music and the target and will also feel the effects of the failure. A worse case scenario could result in the Music Sense user falling unconscious or even dying.
Also, the more people involved, the more powerful the Music becomes and easier to hear. However, everyone has to be working together. Opposing forces will disrupt the effort, and if an adversary joins into "cheering" the target, the adversary is working with the wrong melody. It will go against him. For example, when Mr. Virus moved along with Cap White, he was actually making things worse for him because it was not his song, in a sense.
The Music and people's melodies can only be clearly heard and manipulated by a select few, like the EBA and the Ouendan. Those people can also consciously change them temporarily, channel the music, make them sync up with others and the situational music. People without this sense can still sync up with others. It like when people start walking together or clapping or waving; they just start to fall into the same rhythm without thinking about it.

Motivation
The EBA and Ouendan dance/cheer to the Music, and the higher the sync rate, the better things go. The more people synced up and working toward the same goal, the better things go. The EBA and Ouendan both do this by dancing and cheering and syncing up to the Music and channeling the spiritual energy to their target as well. And, they take it a step further, they feel and relate to the target directly.
The EBA utilize the power of the group, the unconscious syncing of others. The Ouendan focus all their energy to a single person or small group. This provides slightly different results. When the EBA take a mission, they sync a person to a song but also spread some energy outwards. People join in and add their energy to the situation. The target realizes that he or she isn’t alone and has the support of others. Things are easier knowing someone else is there, and the target is motivated to do the best possible. Rather than focus on one, the EBA gets everyone moving together, even the adversary if there is one. The people involved are motivated to join in, help, and just seem to brighten up and glow.
The Ouendan focus all of their energy to their target. This causes them to have a more fiery determination, a "person against the world type" of motivation. That "glow" the EBA causes is instead ignited and turned to flames. Their flames match the target’s; the target’s flames match theirs. Things fall into place. People may join in, but the target’s feelings are mostly that of "I can do this by myself. I can do this." The Ouendan remind the target they are there with an "OSU!" or "GO!". They push the target forward with a concentrated burst of energy. Then they keep sending energy and motivation the target’s way by cheering to the the Music.
For the final levels, the EBA and Ouendan really use the power of the group, but they have to get the people working together first. They have to stop the mob mentality and desire to save one’s own self and inner circles, something easier said than done. It’s easier to bring a lot of people down than bring them up. Tiny, separate groups can do little against something huge. They need to be just as big and working together. The combined spiritual energy of the world overwhelming and will beat back anything.

Target Location
On a similar note, the Ouendan find their targets solely by listening for the negative, desperate feelings, then arriving at the scene. The EBA do the same, but on a different scale. The Ouendan cover their respective towns. (Except when Cleopatra needs to lose weight.) The EBA try to help the entire United States, a much, much larger area. To do this, they have the E.O.M. to help them find targets beyond their normal senses. Then they arrive by vehicle. (Ignore the obvious distance-time issues that the EBA and Ouendan have, please. That falls into the crazy game side of things.)
The Elite-O-Meter (usually shortened to E.O.M., ee oh em.) was first developed to monitor agents performance on the field (hence the "appeal" measure), so they could train and improve during practice. The higher energy levels the agents reached, the better they were doing. It was later discovered to also measure non-agent levels and was altered to create the EBA’s long range target scanner. The name stayed the same. The E.O.M. would see when someone’s levels dropped into the red (low levels) and show it on Kahn’s screen for monitoring. If things got worse or if it was an emergency, the EBA would be sent in. This is usually when "HEEEAAALP!" is screamed. Then, the E.O.M. would switch from searching for targets to measuring a target’s levels and the agents’ performance. The E.O.M. can handle multiple operations at once. For example, the E.O.M. can measure the levels for two simultaneous missions (a Diva and an Agent mission) and still search for even more targets.
It is important to know that neither the EBA nor the Ouendan actually "choose" their targets. They go by who needs help at the time and try to maintain neutrality. This means that if they sense that an oil baron with a gold-digging wife or a Mary-Sue author on a next day deadline needing help, they will get it just as much help as the former baseball player fighting the golem or the boy trying to give a nice farewell to his crush.
