In-Character Information
Name : Proton
Game/Series: HG/SS
Age & Grade Level : ‘17’ / junior || THOUGH he is really ‘19-21’
Personality: The first word that may come to mind when seeing Proton is, Wrath. Though this might be more to the fact it seems to be his favorite word to yap out when trying to appear intimidating to little kids less than half his age. However it is stated that he is rumored to be the ‘scariest and cruelest of Team Rocket’ but despite this fact or perhaps because of it- he is the most popular of the executives. Having a small following of fans when it comes to the female Grunts of Team Rocket- though he may be a bit oblivious to this fact seeing as he didn’t notice the one that was pressing her face against the glass separating her from the room he was in back at the Radio tower of Goldenrod. He also seems to harbor a liking to Slowpokes which exudes itself in his practice of--- slicing off their tails as produce.

Really there isn’t much depth to Proton’s personality, one could compare him to the average Team Rocket grunt and there wouldn’t be that much difference. He is portrayed as being scary and cruel, despite none of it really showing any more than any other bad guy calling Main Characters brats, then again, chopping off the tails of Slowpokes could be compared to the cruel act of some maniac cutting off the tails of dogs-but the cruel part of the matter seems to fade a bit in the aspect by the time a Slowpoke realizes it’s tail has been horribly sliced off with shears-they have already grown it back and probably don’t even experience the pain of the act.

All in all Proton is a typical ‘tough-guy’ only he is minus the concrete toughness. When you have a Zubat/Golbat and Koffing/Weezing for pokemon you-aren’t really going to go up in the ranks of villainy. So here is where I am going to creatively expand on Proton as best as I can to give in a little more depth to his character- off of the only two small encounters we get to see of him in the games. I see Proton as being one of those guys who won’t back down from a fist-fight until his fists bleed to the point of losing consciousness- he enjoys fighting- he enjoys pissing off his higher ups (excluding Giovanni of course) but knows his place enough to not back-talk one while in front of other people outside of Team Rocket. He does have a mean streak- however it can be overshadowed by the aspect of ‘he just doesn’t care’ about doing things in the right and just way. Comparing it to how he hardly minds being stuck down a well sneakishly cutting slowpoke tails to sell on the black market compared to opening a restaurant off the coast where the Slowpokes are treated kindly despite having their tails harvested in the same way farmers take the wool from sheep.

However! Proton is not all about being uh- ‘wrathful’, when it concerns the art of romance~~~--- … he doesn’t know a thing, at all. To be frank he is more interested in -himself- than to show much interest in settling down, he’s young, in his prime, and certainly has no thoughts about the idea of getting married or having a girl friend. He’s happy how he is- doing what he wants- without someone there to ‘whine and complain’ at him, at least that’s how he sees it in his mind. He enjoys his single-hood! But this isn’t to say he won’t show INTEREST in women- and like any healthy young man-of course has a ton of magazines shoved under his mattress.
I would also like to embellish more on the fact he is considered the cruelest rocket in the aspect of giving more depth to say he is more than likely a sadist.

Backstory:
Canonly, Proton has VERY VERY LITTLE expanded on, in fact all we know is- he is a part of Team Rocket, and for some stroke of probably LUCK he became an executive (lowest grade out of the four most likely)-and has been in a well with slowpokes harvesting their tails-then ending up at Radio Tower where the Main Character fights him again to find Proton’s Pokémon have evolved since the well incident. After defeating him and the rest of the executives they disband and are never seen again.
So here is where I plan to assume believable things as to how Proton got where he was- seeing how we are keeping to the timeline as best we can, all the incidents in HG/SS actually haven’t happened yet- and instead of such things happening- the time line derails when Giovanni apparently logs onto his good ol’ Team Rocket website hosted by Yahoo!geocities free account with ads.

Once upon a time in Johto, there was a green haired boy who probably grew up in some broken home where he didn’t see eye to eye with parents- and what happens then? Obviously he joins a different family-a gang. Because not feeling accepted at home means he can try and find it elsewhere. Thus Proton joined Team Rocket while visiting some job fair. He started out like any other Grunt, nameless and dinking around random areas waiting till some young main character would step out into his line of vision - where he would proceeded to challenge them As the player kicked themselves and wish they had action replay codes to make it so they couldn’t get stopped by trainers wanting to battle. Losing as always-the life was pretty boring as a Team Rocket Grunt. Being the boy from the wrong side of the tracks left a lot of pent up hostility that he couldn’t get out against MCs that’d just kick his Zubat and Koffing’s asses.

Thus he came up with - a plan! A plan that would help him get rid of all that hostility while ensuring he wouldn’t get his ass kicked by a Main character--! He would take out his frustrations on poor defenseless Pokémon. He approached the head of command of Team Rocket’s revival- with a plan to harvest the tails off of Slowpoke for the Pokémon black market, Apollo,mesmerized by Proton’s luscious green hair that was so not pink, and would so complete the pastel rainbow of enemy hair was intrigued by this idea-so much that he decided to promote the Green haired Grunt to Super-Grunt Executive level.

Here is where the time line takes its drastic turn to incorporate into Sumabura Gakuen, after a few weeks of initially starting up the Slowpoke tail black market trade, Proton is eventually contacted as being elected to the GREAT PRESTIGOUS HONOR or accompanying Apollo on some ‘bogus’ goose chase that apparently Giovanni was in fact located in this strange place. Though who are we kidding? We all know the only reason Apollo is taking Proton along is to make it look like this is real serious Team Rocket business and not some desperate attempt to just go run off and see the love of his deprived life, Giovanni. But in any case, Proton agreed to go along, probably on some promise that only a GREAT and STRONG member of Team Rocket could fill the spot. Always one to pet his own ego- there was no way he could turn down such a task- and thus- he was found himself--- carrying a bunch of luggage belonging to Apollo into a new dorm after they had so skillfully forged themselves transfer student folders. Everything was going without a hitch~ ……so far anyway. There would only be a few more days until the school year officially started-and their sneaky ways would really be tested.

Keeeeehhh I don’t get it!
Why the hell I got to go on this mission when I’m already overseeing my own missions!
It really pisses me off this sort of stuff gets shoveled onto me! I mean I don’t even know Boss-!
I sorta got into this business after he left! Petrel should be doing this! He at least knows the guy! I can just feel the wrath boiling right up inside of me! I could punch something!

Instead its got to be me… ‘cause I can pass off as a teenager? That better not be some insult…
I just better get paid extra for all this trouble… UGH AND- AND-I HAVE TO SHARE AN APARTMENT WITH HIM…. T-tch that guy’s nosy as it is…. Now he’s gonna be bugging me constantly… then to top it all off I got to pretend to be the guy’s younger brother….this… this….is---!

In-Character 3rd person writing post:
Where was he when he heard the news? Dimly he could recall the soft cushion of a sofa, lying back as lanky legs hung over one arm of the couch that rested inside the break room of the hideaway. A black hat shielded his vision, arms folded behind his neck as his mind toyed in and out of a day dream as relaxation had just begun to sink in.
“ATTENTION: EXECUTIVES; ATHENA, PRETEL, AND PROTON- YOUR PRESENCE IS REQUESTED WITHIN THE MAIN MEETING ROOM WITH GREAT URGENCY”

Some of him mulled the idea of ignoring it, play it off as being asleep… yeah he could get away with that-at least for a few more minutes until they realized he wasn’t showing up just ye-
“EXECUTIVE PROTON, BEING TARDY WILL NOT BE ACCEPTABLE IN THIS INSTANCE, ARRIVE NOW OR SUFFER THE CONSEQUENCES OF MISSIONS DEALING WITH GIVING THE STANDARD ISSUED GRIMERS BATHS”
“Shiiiiit…..wait…how the hell would you even give a Grimer a bath…..” green eyes slowly opened underneath the bill of the black hat he wore. Ohhh well looks like he’d not get the chance to relax anymore. Then again maybe if he was lucky enough this would be about a new mission where he could exude the wrath he always talked aboutTeam Rocket had.
