Personality:

Ashley is very skeptical of people due to trauma that happened in early childhood and after the incident on Blood Edward Island. She is very tentative when trusting others. She has worked on this a bit and will try to make friends but keep a eye out for any trouble. People who do not seem trustworthy, she would rather avoid unless she absolutely had to go near them.

Ashley Part 2/? bluemoonmemory April 3 2010, 06:10:51 UTC
Backstory: (SPOILER WARNING!!! Will be marked once again)

For the first 3 years of her life, Ashley lived with her parents. They had a normal life and lived happily. On October 30th, Ashley's 3rd birthday, that all changed in a violent moment. A man the child had never seen before came into the house to talk with her mother, demanding something. Sayoko hid the toddler in a closet so she would be safe, not knowing what was about to happen. Ashley was very uncertain why she was hidden, nor why the voices of the man and her mother were very angry. As she opened the door to peek out, she saw the man shoot her mother. She hid back into the closet once more, curling up and hoping she wasn't found. Hours later, her father had come home to find the grizzly scene and looked for his daughter. When he found her, he pulled her close to try and comfort her before leaving her under the table and walking out of her life.

When she was found, she was sent to live with her Aunt Jessica. Every so often she would ask about her parents, but would get the same answer every year, "They were taken by a man." At 10, she decided to take her word for it, figuring she would not get any more information then that. At 13, She decided she didn't want to celebrate her birthday anymore. Her dreams were starting to bother her more and more. She swore they were of her 3rd birthday and the events that happened. Her aunt brushed these off, saying they were her imagination running away.

The very next year, Ashley received a mysterious package in the mail. She wasn't very sure about it but she opened it anyway. Inside was a small device and a letter. The letter was a simple, "Happy Birthday Ashley!" Once the device was opened, another letter was brought up, requesting she meet her father, who she thought was dead, on Blood Edward Island. Even though she had not heard from the man in years, she decided to make plans and head there anyways, Wanting to hear why he left her alone for so long.

When they arrived at the Island, they noticed that Richard was not there waiting for them. Jessica told Ashley to wait and talk to the Captain and went to go look for him. With great reluctance, she did so, but soon realized that she had been gone too long. She took off in the direction of the bridge and soon found Jessica's glasses, thus starting her adventure on the island. As she searched the island for her aunt, she accidentally moved a gravestone and awakened D, a ghost who surprises Ashley with the fact she can see him. They decided to stick together and went to go search the mansion for her father and aunt.

(SPOILERS!!!! If you do not want the ENTIRE game spoiled, Here it in in a Non Spoiler Nutshell- She finds her Father, Jessica and they live on...BUT...D still has none of his memories back..)
~*~*~*~*~*~

Throughout the mansion, Ashley found items that would spark some memory of D's, helping him out as they got further and further in. After solving various puzzles and learning more about the mansion and its old occupants, they find Richard and Jessica. They also learned the truth about her mother's murder and the night of her 3rd birthday through the use of the project that her parents had worked on, called Trace.

After they learned the truth, Bill, the man who killed Sayoko and tried to impersonate Richard, calls Richard to the caves under the mansion. They arrived and got into a stand off, Bill pointing a gun at Richard, ready to kill him at a moment's notice. Ashley tries to distract him but he forces her to reveal the facts of that night. Once she told him who killed her mother, he was about to fire upon Richard when D appeared to him and spoke, "You're making Frannie cry.” This statement startled Bill and he stepped backwards and fell to his death.

The group left the cavern and made it to a beach area where the captain of the ship was waiting for them. He looked behind Ashley and Richard and asked who D was. D was startled by the fact the man could see him and ran off before Ashley could say anything. She followed him and spoke with him about what happened but found out that they had not recovered all his memories. Ashley felt bad and apologized to him before he disappeared. She rejoined her family and they left the island to try and start life again.
~*~*~*~*~*~
(END OF SPOILERS)

After returning to Washington and dealing with the courts and other legal issues, her father offered her the chance to go to Smash Academy. He told her it was unlike any of the schools she had been to and could learn a few things from there. She agreed and headed off to the school. Event after event left her quiet and unsure, not exactly positive what to expect at any point.

A few months later she got a letter from her aunt. She was getting pulled from the school just when she was starting to get used to everything. She packed her stuff up, said her goodbyes and headed back home to see the true reasoning behind it all. Turns out her aunt was still quite upset about her father taking control after being legally dead for years. She had pulled her out and re-enrolled her into her old school. Ashley tried to ignore the arguments that kept going on behind her back once she got started.

She didn't quite fit back into the 'normal' school routine and found it quite boring after a semester. The normal classes and normal students just didn't quite impress her anymore. She missed the odd classes and the students from all over. After she finished the year at the school, Ashley went to her father and aunt and told them she wanted to go back to Smash Academy. Her father agreed and went to go and re-enroll her. While he did that, her Aunt Jessica argued with her about that, but Ashley convinced her about the fact she was bored in the normal school.

Anything Else?: Not really

In-Character 1st person writing sample (journal):

Well...I'm back. I really did miss the school.

I ended up going to school in Washington for a while but it didn't feel the same. I can't imagine going anywhere else now. The school really grew on me I guess.

I do plan on repeating my Freshman year, seeing as I missed quite a bit of classes. I don't think moving on would feel right if I didn't go back to re-do what I missed. Wonder who I'll be rooming with this time?

So, what all have I missed, everyone?

In-Character 3rd person writing post:

The bus pulled up to the station in Final Destination city and opened it's doors, to release passengers. Ashley disembarked, a backpack upon her back. She looked around with a smile, "I've missed this city.." She was glad that she took the bus so she had a moment to look around the city before her father brought up the rest of her stuff to the dorms. A quick glance at a map at the stop pointed her in the direction of the school. She pulled the backpack off and pulled out her paperwork, getting ready for when she arrived at the school.

She slung the backpack back on her back and started walking to the school. She chuckled lightly, glancing back where the carnival was at one point, "I remember that...Maybe it'll return again. It's always nice to have some fun." She reminded herself to ask about why the carnival allowed all the students in free. With a slight shake of her head, she moved on. She wanted to make it to the school before her father got there.

After a while of walking, she saw the stadium and some of the school buildings. She couldn't fight back a smile that this sight caused. "I'm glad to be back...." Ashley sped up her pace, wondering if everyone she had made friends with were still there. She started to run, ready to get back in the school and get started once more.

Once she reached the main building, Ashley immediately heading towards the admissions office, her paperwork in hand so she could register and restart her schooling once more.

Modly review! headmasterhand April 8 2010, 05:41:37 UTC
We'd like a bit more personality! As it stands, the section is a little on the short side and we feel it can be expanded. Ashley is the protagonist of her game, so give us a little more detail! Good luck, and let us know if you have any questions.

Ashley is very skeptical of people due to trauma that happened in early childhood and after the incident on Blood Edward Island. She is very tentative when trusting others. She has worked on this a bit and will try to make friends but keep a eye out for any trouble. People who do not seem trustworthy, she would rather avoid unless she absolutely had to go near then. She is trying hard to go out of her way to try and make friends.

She is very intelligent and is very into puzzles, coming from figuring out the puzzles on the island quickly. She is quite interested in some of the stranger classes for 'normal' school kids, Mostly to find out more about it. She is very emotional at times, changing from Happy to angry at a moments notice, especially when upset or sad. She is very interested in music and is working hard at learning the guitar. She is very determined to become a pro musician.

She can be quite headstrong and this gets her into trouble more often then not. Although at the same time she's helped save a life. Once convinced of her beliefs, She will stick to it unless it is proven otherwise. Even at that point, it isn't easy to get her to see the other side.

Ashley will often take time to stop and repeat things in her mind. Her belief is that the more she does this, more likely she will remember it. She was taught this when she was on the Island and has kept doing this. She is convinced that this will help her remember and will suggest it to others. While she does this, it takes a moment for one to snap her attention back to the situation at hand. She also carries around a small notebook, to take down information she can't stop and think about until sometime later.

She feels like she is constantly at odds with both her father and aunt, Even after reuniting with them both on the island, she feels that they treat her more like a small child then a teenager. Making her own decision to return to the school, she hopes that they will see that she is capable of making her own choices.

Ashley seems to ask a lot of questions when talking with someone who tells her of a problem, wanting to help them out. She observes the problem and then will try to offer up a solution or advice. Even if in the long run her solution or advice isn't needed or could not be used in the situation, She seems to feel good that she at least attempted to help.

(I just hope this posts right. Notepad keeps messing my things up)
