For all who still read this, sorry I've been so bad at updating!
The semester has been good overall. Other than the setbacks in analytical chem (got the 4th lowest score on the first exam, over circuits, which was pretty frustrating) my classes are going well. My favorite is Atmospheric Chem and Climate Change, the prof is awesome and we're learning a lot of interesting things. Not to mention it's good practice for grad school. I almost feel like I'm a grad student now - going to PCCRC (climate change center) meetings, presenting my research at conferences, leading discussions on lit papers, hanging out with the other grad students - it's a good time. I feel like I'm putting of the long term things I need to do though, and I can already see that I'm gonna be in trouble at the end of the semester if I keep up the current pace. I haven't touched grad school applications for a month, have hardly started researching for my 20 page research paper, and at the end of the semester I'll be planning POCAR hardcore and hopefully making a video for a climate change awareness video contest.
Ok, I should stop talking about college.
I got a webcam, finally!! Let me tell you, it makes talking to people (namely, Justin) so much better! Yeah, Justin was pretty much the only reason I got it, since he's the only one I know who has one, and I felt bad because I could see him but he couldn't see me. Although when we tried it out for the first time it ended up with a 5 min delay which really sucked. But the next two times I used it there were no problems. whew. I'm really happy we've managed to keep in touch, we talk at least once a week. Pretty amazing considering I talk to some of my good friends less than that...
Last weekend I took a spontaneous trip south with a couple outing club people, to scout out a state forest for POCAR (the adventure race we plan in winter). On the way we stopped at a brewpub in Broad Ripple for a pretty good lunch, a gear store (always fun), a rock climbing gym in Bloomington, Upland Brewery for dinner (well, dessert for me) and finally to the state forest to camp for the night. We were going to do some night hiking but we got in finally after midnight. So yeah, it was nice to get away from Purdue for a weekend, although I would've rather spent less time in an un-airconditioned car (that wasn't even mine!).
