Probably gonna be a short post. I don't have much internet attention span here. My stepfather has a laptop, so there's no desktop setup. I come on every once and a while to check e-mail and all of that stuff, but not constantly like at home. I really kind of like it this way better. Sporadic uses of internet rather than always jumping on whenever I want and wasting all of my time. Not that I'm doing anything productive here - hanging out, sleeping, playing games... but that's why it's a vacation, right?
Anyway. Just ordered 100 jewel cases for $30 to put the Yo, Adrian! album together when I get home. Going to finish the artwork (which is basically just adding our names to the booklet and coming up with the tracklisting with everyone for the back) when I get back, then spend my four days off from work to fold and put them together.
Yes, that's right. I'm off this week, I get back on Saturday, then I don't work at the Pennysaver on Monday. I'll work at Sawatdee on Monday and Tuesday when I get back, but I'll only work at the Pennysaver Tuesday and Wednesday. Then we have Thursday and Friday off for New Year's. So, in this two week period here, I'm working about two days and being paid for 10 (at the one job, at least). Not too shabby.
This also leaves plentiful time, upon my return, to finish the vocals for the album - which include three or four more songs + gang vocals. I think the recording session before I left went well, but I haven't listened to it yet. Hopefully Justin and Steve have had a chance to start putting things together.
You know why I also like not being online all of the time? It gets me away from the stupid things and people who bum me out and make me feel like an idiot. I'm gonna have to start doing things differently when I get home. All of my music stuff is hooked up to my computer, so it's easy to stop playing with that stuff and just go online. But maybe I'll just have to force myself to commit more to learning to play things and whatnot. I'm having fun playing the keyboard Chris lent me a while back, and I got those electronic drumsticks and the synthbox in the mail. Could cook up some fun stuff, maybe.
The flight down here was alright. We left a little later because we had to wait for the de-icing truck to come and de-ice us. I had a window seat while an old lady had the outside seat. When I told her that I had the inside seat, she just put her tray table up and didn't move. I thought she may have wanted to stand up to let me through, but she just sat there. I'm pretty sure I stepped on her ankle when I crossed over, but I blame her since she had three bags that she was trying to cram under the seats. When I sat down she told me, "It's a good thing you're not so fat!"
As the flight ended, some kid across the aisle from us started crying/screaming because she didn't want her seatbelt on. This lasted the final 45 minutes of the flight. When we touched down, the old lady next to me went into a never-ending round of "Thank you, Jesus. Praise you, Jesus. Thank you, God. Glory, glory hallelujah." Over and over and over and over. With a crying kid next to us. And a whimpering dog a row behind us.
It was weird.
I fell asleep on the runway but woke up about halfway through the flight, and I couldn't fall asleep again. That sucked. I started getting really antsy and uncomfortable and wanted to get up and move around. It was frustrating. I also couldn't find anything on my iPod that I actually wanted to listen to, so it was just all-around annoying.
complaincomplaincomplain.
The Plattsburgh airport is nice, though, and there were way more people on the flight than I had expected - more than a hundred, and it was full. So, it was more than a biplane but less than a 747.
Anyway. I think lunch is coming. Tonight is a Christmas party with Michelle and her friends, which I will probably feel completely awkward at. But, who knows. Could be a blast.
Merry Christmas!
