So, I'm going to type a little each day this weekend so I don't forget anything awesome that happened. Because, thus far, this has been the best fucking weekend ever. Well... the best fucking weekend ever since the last time I said I had the best fucking weekend ever, which wasn't too long ago.
Work all week has been pretty ridiculous. Not so much that it's been crazy busy, but just certain customers needing certain things by certain (ridiculous) deadlines and the like. And, of course, the fun and excitement of printers working poorly and causing us even more grief. WOOO!
When I got out on Friday, though, I hung around at home a bit and then we had our first practice in the basement. It's so much better than practicing at The Steves' old place - so much more space! Plus, we were able to clear about a foot and a half of space out of the basement, so now the bands can move further back and the crowd can come closer. It's pretty kickin' down there.
Practice was really good, and then I went home because I was feeling totally wiped. Justin & Steve went over to a party at Allison's, then I wound up hanging out with Liz & Meredith, then the folks at 56, for a little while. Wound up at Allison's myself, which was really fun. There were probably about 10 people there hanging out and being swell. We just had a fun time goofing around. Went to the Monopole after that, then went home around 2AM.
Steve and I weren't feeling completely tired, so we popped in Major League. We fell asleep probably before the halfway point of the movie.
On Saturday, I woke up at 8AM again. For no reason. Kind of just loafed around until people started waking up, at which point we drove around to scope out garage sales. Justin got a really sweet chair for five bucks and Steve got Beethoven on VHS. Then The Steves and I stopped at the Unitarian Church's rummage sale - they give you a large paper bag, you fill it up with as much as you can, and it costs you two dollars. I walked away with a sweet blazer, a Surge motocross jersey or something, and a nifty green tie.
While I was there, I ran into a professor I had my last semester at Plattsburgh State. He also works at PBS. He asked me if I was interested in any part-time work, as there had been a couple of times when he had me in mind for projects there. He gave me his card and told me to e-mail him my information. Just awesome. I've been looking for part-time work for a while now, and then suddenly this drops right into my lap. Part-time work that I'd actually enjoy? WAHOO!
But the top kill of the day was what I found in a yard sale. We were driving by, everyone spotted it, and we started yelling at Justin to pull over. I walked over to the folks, picked up the item and payed my seven dollars.
I am now the proud owner of an adult-sized Tigger costume. Fucking incredible.
Saturday night was the show at 56 Elm. We played with Meredith & Eric, Electrical Bananas, Priests of Leisure and The Grievants. I kid you not when I say that it was probably the best show I've been to at the house. Ever. Everyone played with so much energy, the crowd had so much energy the entire time, and everything just came together so awesomely and beautifully. It was Priests of Leisure's first show, and they fucking SLAYED. The Grievants came from Rochester to play, and they were 100% incredible. They also seemed to like us quite a bit, and we're in the process of hooking up some shows with them in their area. Score.
The Albany show isn't happening because the guy putting it together is a complete fucking idiot. You can not argue with me against that fact - he's a stupid bastard. BUT, we are all heading to Travis' later on for a cookout/campfire to continue our ALL OUT WAR WEEKEND Memorial Day celebration.
I'll return with Sunday news after Sunday is over.

After I came home last night, Meredith came over to hang out and crash since 56 was full with The Grievants, Iann and others. We chatted and drank decaf coffee for a while, then Steve came home and we hung out and chatted some more. Eventually, we all decided that we were pretty sleepy and split to our various quarters.
Today has been pretty lazy. I slept until 11:45! How completely mega! I haven't done that in so long. It felt nice.
Gah, damn it! I need to buy a Mac. I keep trying to use Mac shortcuts since that's what we use at work. It's so frustrating!
Anyway. I sat around for most of the day not doing much. Made some progress on the plexiglass computer I'm building, which is always nice.
In the evening, a bunch of us went up to Travis' for an extremely kickin' Memorial Day (ALL OUT WAR) Weekend cookout/campfire. I've just started going to those this year, and they're probably one of my new favorite things to do. Everyone's just sitting around, talking, hanging out and being warmed by a fire. It's really calming and centering.
Plus, whatever I'm wearing smells like a campfire for days afterwards, and that's awesome.
Came home and wound up being awake until around 4. I'll blame it on the Pepsi, with all of its evil caffeine, I had at the campfire. I watched a movie called "Spellbound" about eight kids traveling to and competing in the National Spelling Bee. It was alright.

Monday now, and I'm doing laundry. American Gladiators tonight at Little Steve & Eric's new place, but nothing else on tap for the day as of yet. It's kinda crappy outside, and I can see it being a very, very lazy day.

Oh, PS. We saw Indiana Jones on Thursday night. FUCK YOU! It was awful. Not entirely awful, I guess. It was fun to watch, but it wasn't good. Just... such a disappointment.
