New Rules for you to review. But first, don't forget to enter the current challenge -
go here. Now like I said there are a changes. The two biggies:
- One header per member
This allows a more level playing field for voting purposes, discouraging a sweep by one member. It also forces the artist to put that extra time into the one header. It makes it the best it could possibly be.
- Entries are not anonymous
I don't want this to turn into a popularity contest. However, I want this to be a community of artists/header creator not just anonymous headers. If people see your header and want to see more, they can easily go visit your journal and/or graphic journal. I want to open up dialog. I may even start a beta format where you can "test-run" your header before you complete it. Currently a great place for that is
artists_guild. You could not use them before as you were submitting anonymously, but now you can.
Like I said, I want to create a contest community. Feedback is our friend. It can only make us better.
Remember - anything that you submit to
header_contest can be used by any member or peruser of the community. In order to make sure that the creator of a header gets proper credit, It's best to always have it labeled, wherever it may appear.
I hope that you can share in my excitement about moving this community forward, and by expanding our base, creating the best we can.
You will find under the cut the draft I have set for the new rules format. Please feel free to comment as you see fit. The dialog is open.

Also - check out the user info for a new menu. Let me know if you catch any spelling errors, or if you need expansion on anything. Remember that it is a work in progress.
New Rules and New concept will go into effect November 1st, 2006. The transition may be a little bumpy as we work out the kinks together (tee hee "kink")
