Happy Easter to LJ Land and all LJ Friends. Bill began the day at 7 by putting the 21 lb turkey in the oven. It was a smashing success. (I mean that literally. Part of the turkey smashed into the floor while we attempted to move it to a serving platter). Here is the turkey while it was still whole:
Beautiful, eh? Full of cornbread stuffing and complimented by buttermilk biscuits, glazed sweet potatoes, and deviled eggs and cranberry sauce (supplied by Mom). Sis and Mom arrived at 2 and we had a late lunch at 2:30. Then we had a lovely visit ending with chocolate silk pie and coffee, which is the perfect way to end pretty much anything.
Easter Eucharist was intresting. The church was SRO, with folding chairs having to brought in from the Parish Hall next door...full of Easter/Christmas Episcopalians and visitors. I kinda enjoy watching non-Episcopalians try to keep up: stand, sit, kneel, cross yourself, and repeat.
And now pics of the family at Easter
