The man, the myth, and the legend....

I'm a big believer in not counting chickens before they hatch.  Too many variables.  And so, as Obama takes the reins, I watch.  What I AM sure of is that he is no Messiah, Saviour, or Prophet.  He's man with some ideas that may or may not work.   He will not save the entire country from poverty, but his time in office might see some economic progress.  He may or may not take the war on terror in the right direction.  He may or may not be tested by a foreign attack on American soil.  He will certainly have to deal with the idea of hostile countries possessing or seeking nuclear weapons.  He will see Congress make important and  life-altering decisions on social issues such as stem cell research, abortion, and health care.  And he will realize that being the "Buck Stops Here" man of the world's most-watched nation is quite different than being the Senator from IIlinois.  Will he rise to the occasion?  Only time and the writers of history will tell.  My only hope is that America be strong, safe, and steadfast.  If that is accomplished on his watch, I'll be satsified.

As Obama's term progresses, I'll attempt to make comments in the most dipomatic way possible.  I'm quite sure that I will disagree with a good many things that happen these next four years.
