Today I was about 5min late for the bus and the cost was missing my first class. Ironic enough the class I missed was the class I’m doing this project for. I definitely need to get my time management skills into gear here. If driving being 5 min late is no problem. Had to keep in mind I still had to walk 6 minutes to get to the stop on time. I probably could have made it if I rode my bike, but did not feel like messing with it tonight after class. Though I must add, even though I have not yet done it, using the bike and bus combined together is a wonderful tool. All RTA buses are equipped with bike carriers that can hold 2 bikes
Yesterday before going to a party I stopped by speedway to pick up some drinks and I know every eye was on me as it was almost midnight. I must say I felt a little silly pulling into a gas station on my bike in the middle of the night.
A question was brought up asking how I would buy groceries and go shopping without a car. For one a few grocery stores will actually deliver food to your doorstep for a small fee. Also I just put in an order for 2 bike bags that will ride on my both sides of my back tire. The bags have a max capacity of 2,350 cubic inches. They also have available holders that will hold a paper grocery bag on each side of the bike. Yes, space is limited, but well within reason. If you’re single then you really don't need a lot of groceries... if you have a family then bring the family with you. With an average of 4 people in a family that’s 8 spots for bags. Living without a car does not have to be difficult, it’s just very different to what were used to.
