Shawn cursed inwardly. Dammit!
There was no way his dad could know he was here! Henry was the one that trained him to be perfect in these things! And Shawn had been extra careful, had gotten rid of all the traces and had chosen a well hidden spot from where he could see everything without being seen in return.
Practically he wasn't even here, leaving evidence about a party, letting Gus in on his plan to have him taking care of an alibi, just using every possible way to clear him from all suspicion. The remote was clutched in his hands, just waiting for him to dim the lights and set the cheesy (alright, alright, romantic) music off.
Everything was perfect. Everything was going exactly the way he planned. And now his dad was early and he didn’t know why but it might ruin everything! Was he bluffing or did he really know Shawn was in here, cuddled in old blankets and coats?
Henry took another good look around, his face completely devoid of any emotion. "I know you sent the card."
Shawn flinched.
"And I know you sent hers." A pause. "She's not coming. And I'm leaving."
His dad turned away and disappeared from his field of view. "It ain't a movie, Shawn. Grow up."
The door slammed shut.
His face suddenly started to feel very warm.
