But how can you sit there and compare your faith to someone who is a true and devout Jew? Everyone can say anything about their religion to try and move people in the 'right direction', but what direction IS that? People who sin again and again may one day convert once they realize they haven't been learning from all their mistakes... but those of us living inbetween, not hellions and not following every one of God's commands, those of us who believe in God, i don't think that will ever mean we will go to hell. How can you FULLY and TOTALLY repent a sin? WHat if I take all the actions necessary to repent a sin, but peer pressure overcomes me and I make that mistake again? What about us who aren't strong enough to totally trust in God's word to lead us in the right direction? lem, I think you have a misconception. Christianity is not about drinking and being a virgin. None of us are strong enough to totally trust in God's word. I don't totally trust it and that's obvious from the way I live. I have never repented perfectly, I have never believed perfectly. And really, dwelling on things like how well we repent, how well we trust, and how well we avoid "drinking" is part of the problem. Christianity is not about us finding our way. You asked about people who are in between - not hellions but not obeying every commandment. Forget hellions and "every commandment" - not one of us has ever loved God with all our heart, soul, mind, and strength for 1 second, all of us have made a thousand idols out of everything imaginable and that is most definately enough to send us to hell, and it should, and it would. The reason the devout Jew is wrong, and the devout Muslim, and the devout Hindu, is because they are just as much a sinner as the rest of us, and they are rejecting the only means of escaping the penalty for
