Okay, I was going to write about Sin City or movie night tonight, but I changed my mind. I'm currently watching the music video for Eminem's song "Mosh". As far as the video is concerned, the song is one big diss to George Bush and his administration. I have absolutely no problems with that. George Bush should be smart enough to know that Cheney and Rumsfeld are warmongering idiots who fantasize about world domination. He should realize that acting arrogantly is not the way to endear himself with the rest of the world. He should also realize that just because America got attacked does not mean that we can bomb anyone we want. I mean, I'm not studying at Yale, but I know that much. Anyway, with this being said, I still don't understand the song. It is mostly protesting against the war in Iraq, which I think is a good cause. However, coming from a guy who dedicated something like five of his songs to singing about how he'd like to kill his ex-wife, protesting a war seems somewhat odd. I mean, the message seems to be a bit contradictory. It's a bit like Fred Durst, a man who sang "We've got the fire to burn this mother*^%# down/ Town, town/ Burn this mother&^%$ down" singing in that song after the September 11th attacks. I believe his part included the words: "We got human beings using humans for a bomb/ But everyone wanna live/ Don't nobody really/ want to die/ You feeling me right/ I can't be watching people die/ And watching people cry/ Let me break it down for a minute/ If there's enough room here for you and me/ There's plenty of room for some humanity". I like both Limp Bizkit and Eminem, by the way, but I think that singing about such things is more than a little hypocritical. Basically, I guess what I'm trying to say is that I hate hypocrisy. I don't care if it comes from the Republican party, the Democratic party, my suite mate, some pretentious singer, or even myself: hypocrisy is one of the worst traits that humanity exhibits.
