Tayuya mentioned something about bonding by way of mutual insults. It's amazing you all function so impressively together; I admit at first I was a bit envious.

That's a good way to explain the relationship, yes. It would be nice to find a less conflicting way of cooperating, though. We're an oxymoron in ourselves.

There's still hope that you will as time passes! You guys are still quite young--I know, not by ninja standards--but in the grand scheme of things it isn't as if you're, say, my age and even then, the rest of this team keeps telling me that it's not an excuse to remain so set in my ways.
I expect it's a pattern everyone's fallen into out of familiarity, more than anything else.

You know, I spoke to Sakon about that, at one point. He said that if he were to treat you any differently, you would believe he were under the influence of a genjutsu...
...Have you ever expressed this desire to the rest of the team?

Because it's just a bit hard to believe that he could go from being a babbling idiot to a decent person in five seconds flat.
Oh yes, ask the group to gather 'round and have a nice talk about our problems, then receive the biggest conglomerative mocking of my life. It's a perfect plan!

While that's true, you can't forget he's not fourteen anymore, and while you might not see it, or rather, he might not want you to see it, he's still a long way off from decent, but not as far off as he was when I first met him.

If that virus was any indication, he'll get there in another nine years or so. It may be a long wait, but at least it's reassuring.
...That doesn't make it any less an issue that involves all of us. I believe I can bring it up in a manner that will not result in mocking, nor portay you as a tale-bearer, because I do hate to see how this is affecting you.

To put it simply, yes.

Then, I'll do it.

...I'm not sure, Miss Hero. Maybe this is better as an issue between me and the rest of the team.

It's a...nice sentiment. But I'm not about to have someone go and preach about my own issues.

I'm not about to preach, nor is it your issue alone. It's not as if I hadn't noticed this situation months before you arrived, you know.
Reply
...Is that so?
