weekend update
TV - Sanctuary: It has potential but did not really live up to the hype. The costumes and sets were very nice. The fight sequences were "ok". The computer graphics did not get on my nerves. The sound track /mixing guy needs to be fired. The music kept stomping on the dialogue. The acting was ok though the plot was way too predictable for my taste. I'll still try one more episode but ...
Book - Jhegaala by Steven Brust: Pretty much what you expect as reader of Brust. I enjoyed it.
Saturday we headed out to the Maryland Rennfaire. ambyr used her wiles to get me into garb so we would both be dressed up. Got a later start then we wanted and traffic was a bit sucky as it was a lovely day but overall not too bad. One of our friends S decided to join us as well. We saw a couple of Shakespeare scum shows which I always enjoy. We managed to get good seats for both shows. Did some shopping and even managed to surprise ambyr with a pretty nifty metal rose. We ended the day with the Hack and Slash Ale Extravaganza. However my tale would not be complete without saying that we ran in museclio in her incredible new outfit and she looked positively scrumptious! :)
As is pretty much always the case when I go out in garb I get someone wanting to know where they can buy a shirt like mine. (They are simple, well made, comfy and have very nice trim to add that something extra.) Of course since they are handmade I have to tell them they are out of luck. I really wish I was still friends with my EX so I could at least pass on the compliment.
