So after years of waiting and rumors, this movie has finally seen the light of day. So what does the fans and movie goers think? Well this movie certainly is ruffuling the fans feathers. You have people who absolutly hate it, and the ones who are in love with it, and then there are those who are undecided. But nonetheless, good or bad this movie has had an impact, as it has already gained its money back from production in the opening weekend and taking number 1 spot!
Now my personal opinion of this movie is I think it absolutly rocked. From opening scene of that beautiful nude woman getting butcherd to the final fight this movie was a fun ride! Now scary this movie is not, but just plain out fun yes. There are a few downfalls in this movie, for instance the movie really focuses on Freddy, leaving Jason out in the cold as of story line, and the story line itself is a little confusing, but can be overlooked simply for the fact that theres a ton of killing. The rave scene is definatly a stand out scene. The kids in the movie are pretty bad at acting, but who cares about the kids anyway? We want violence from our 2 favorite horror icons.
So how about the battle between Freddy and Jason!? The fight scenes were probably one of the best things of the movie. Watching these two duke it out made alot of fans dreams come true, and the fights didnt favor either character as they both had a good amount of blows in. And if your a gore and blood fan, theres plenty of that in this movie.
So whats next for Freddy Vs. Jason? Well the Freddy vs. Jaon vs. Ash idea is something I wouldnt bet on, but reportedly the Halloween camp is very much into the idea of having Michael Myers battle them in a sequel for the publicity it would give Michael. The title so far they are gunning for is "Friday the 13th: a Halloween Nightmare". But this early anything is possible, just expect to see alot of slasher film copy cats this year due to the success of this film.
So whats my final thoughts after viewing this movie twice? I loved every minutes of it, and ecourage anyone to see it, fan or not. I give it a 4 out of 5 power swords!
