JOHNNY RAMONE JUST DIED ON WEDNSDAY!!! JESUS!! AFTER THE ALL FAMOUS JOEY RAMONE, JOHNNY HAD TO DIE ALONG WITH IT FROM PROSTATE CANCER?! I HATE LIFE. AND, GET THIS, HE WAS ONLY 55!!! WE THOUGHT WHEN MY GRANDPA DIES OF CANCER AT 63 IT WAS YOUNG... 55?!?!

Johnny Ramone guitarist from one of our favorite bands of all time, The Ramones, died on Wednesday of prostate cancer. He was 55. We covered their song "I Wanna Be Sedated" at just about every Sugarcult show from 1999 to 2003. The Ramones weren't just a great rock n roll band, they were an important band culturally; without knowing it they liberated people and gave a sound to how it felt to not fit in. In short they invented punk rock. They had a simple formula to their music that's been imitated by many but never equalled. A huge part of that was the thunderous barre chords Johnny played on his infamous white Mosrite guitar. Joey, Dee Dee and now Johnny may be gone, but the Ramones will never die!
