Took a bit out of a mountain range, thought my teeth would break the mountain down...

Yes, so this bank holiday weekend saw me and a group of friends (AND BEN!!!) go to North Wales, to camp in Snowdon. Well, the camping was...ok, the camping itself, the whole sleeping in a tent and such was ok - I can cope with that. But the weather was just atrocious! Constant wind and rain, and always very grey days. How can anyone live in a place with weather like that? I get depressed after one day of rain down here, I wouldnt be able to cope with it 6 months of the year!

Anyway, Friday saw us go to Caernarfon and run around Caernarfon Castle, indulging in a huge game of Hide N Seek - so much fun! Ben and I stuck together for the hiding part which was nice; I liked having someone there with me to talk to and to keep me calm from the panic of seeing the seeker! Lol. And then we were the seekers for the second round, and we were champions at that too :) We were very swift in finding people, but finding Jon was the funniest as I was hiding behind a group of old people (in fairness, they wouldn't let me pass!), and I could see Jon looking around and then suddenly he spotted me - the look on his face was hilarious. I nearly couldnt run properly because I was laughing so much. So that was a fun day.

Saturday we headed off to climb Mount Snowdon - 1085 metres high, the tallest peak in England and Wales. OMG IT WAS AMAZING. The views, the walk itself, reaching the top. I loved every minute of it. Now, I'm not much of an outdoors-y person, but this was brilliant; yes, we would stop to catch our breaths and enjoy the views, but I never once thought that it was impossible or felt negative about it. It was just lovely to be out in the open. And the top was just so surreal - we were literally walking through clouds! You couldn't see anything beyond the sides of the path, just cloud. People would walk a few feet away from you and disappear into the cloud, like ghosts. I was just so proud of myself to have done it, and I really want to get into hiking and climbing more.

We also got to eat at a place called "Pete's Eats" where the prices are low and the portions huge! But it was very yummy food, and the chips were amazingly good.

The whole trip just left me feeling really rejuvinated and with a positive outlook on everything - like, if I can conquer a mountain, I can conquer anything.

I'm so in the mood for bangers and mash right now...need to go food-shopping soon! I want some really nice tasty sausages - got some pork and leek sausages from ASDA a few weeks back and they were really yummy. And I want to recreate a meal I had in Wales, but get a better result - it's char-grilled lamb chops on a bed of leek and onion with garlic butter and mash. The pub I had this in kind of over-did the char-grilling of the lamb chops and the mash wasnt great, and I'd have liked some gravy with it too. But I loved the leeks. Mmmmm.

Anyhoo, back to work!
