My headphones have died which makes me sad because the only other alternatives I have access to currently, are the blue ones from the bus trip in Barcelona; the sound sucks in them, but for the time being I won't chuck them away because I consider them an important momento of mine and Ben's trip away. I've got an idea for a sketchbook/scrapbook page in my head, that I can use them in but it's actually a case of getting around to creating the page that will be difficult.

Life has been plodding along - IKEA training has been fun (if a little mindless), though I've found that I get along better with the older woman, Carolyn, on my lighting team, than I do the rest of them. The other girls just ALWAYS talk about sex and guys, and are just so unecessarily vulgar and crude. They think that they sound like powerful, in control women, but actually they just come across as right slags. It sounds terrible of me to say, but that's what I think. I just can't relate to them, and I refuse to let myself talk about Ben in the way that they talk about the guys they have encounters with - Ben's too good for that. Too kind, too caring; I'll never let him become the topic of such conversations. They also do very little work, and cluster together in a three and just stand around chatting (or more accurately, moaning about the most mundane/pointless things). Thankfully, Jamie (my manager), has noticed, but I'm not sure he'll punish them as much as they should be. He's a cool guy; get along with him fairly well - we're sarcastic to each other in a kind of brother/sister way. I'm trying my best to work hard for him because he's pretty stressed at the moment because there's so much going on in the store, with everything being put together.

I've finished semester one of my course but I've still got assignments to do - I'm trying to push myself to get this 5000 word essay completed this week but my concentration levels are really poor at the moment for some reason. Still, I'm just trying to think more positively; tomorrow I will do more work and will get more done.
