So recently Mum, to her surprise, has been nominated for the 'Pride of Australia' award as well as being promoted to a senior teacher role. Dad decided she needed a gift to celebrate - an $80 Turkish fruit bowl. The rest of the story I'll convey in script format.
MUM: [Eyes new bowl doubtfully] Is that all? So cheap! And it doesn't match our current dining table.
DAD: [Pulls out wallet and keys] Alright, we'll get a new dining table!
[EXIT STAGE LEFT AND RETURN WITH NEW DINING TABLE]
DAD: [Thoughtful] You know, the new table doesn't match the table or the bowl.
MUM: [Grabs keys] You're right, let's get new ones. And a matching smaller rug to replace the one in the living room. AND NEW HALLWAY RUNNERS TOO!
DAD: [sweatdrops] Uh, yeah. Sure.
