A couple days ago I received an email from, of all things, LiveJournal, congratulating me on my 20th anniversary of being on this platform. Apparently I had signed up 20 years ago, and my last post was in June 2010.
It says I have 10 listed friends. I do not expect any of them to still be using this platform. I will write as if no one is.
Since June 2010, I switched almost exclusively to writing my thoughts on Facebook, with some private emails and some longwinded videos. Mostly Facebook. Facebook has become a different and unsatisfying beast in recent years, and this year I find myself going weeks without posting anything to my own wall.
But I do think I need an outlet to write for myself, and LiveJournal is still here.
A lot has happened in 12 years, clearly. But it's gotten to the point that I need this, an outlet for my thoughts, and a way to work through them. Also a way to generate them. I don't do a lot of thinking for myself lately.
So . . . to the future, on LiveJournal. Let's see what happens.
