I can't tell you what a relief it is to hear you both mention that writing is hard work and that you've experienced self-doubt while you're at it. I think the idea about taking space for yourself as a writer is important and inspiring, too. I would guess that many of us (in various fandoms) look at our writing as something we do in our spare time, just for fun, but nothing to be taken seriously. For me, at least, this is probably setting myself up to fail.

I love to hear how people manage their writing processes. It sounds like you two are a great match! I'm jealous. I want a writing partner in rl too..

The BEST thing about this interview is that for 99% of the questions you can remove the "fan" element completely and it's all still relevant and true :) It's about writing in general -- how you do it, why you do it, why it's great, why it's hellish, how you feel about it, how you tackle particular writing issues, how you make yourself keep going through the dry spells, etc etc. Kudos to interviewer and interviewees!
