I simply have bad GSD and wor war weekend kharma, as I mostly work during weekends or am working, when something comes up. But it has been like that from moment one.
I've met some wonderful people through this that I love as friends. I got to know some of the authors I loved a lot better and that was a great experience. I have to admit that I moved on to another place to find writing buddies, but that's okay too, because I still come back here all the time.
I would love to see a post on how to prompt properly. Because I either draw a complete blank when it comes to prompting OR get overly specific, but I just FAIL completely at anything in between.
Something else that might be nice would be to I don't know, read a specific fanfic from a member as a group, get them to do a meta post about it (as in why they did this or that, what something alludes to etc.) and then discuss it. Probably too much work for the writer if the comm doesn't take part in it, but I think it's a nice thought.
We could also do something like, pick a fic or comm that has few comments and do a "reading + commenting" war or something and leave and share some love with the authors.
Something else I would like, especially since my schedule is so busy would be to sort of get a posting schedule for what a month on here has got in store. You know, so if one wants to take part in a word war weekend and gets the chance to know early enough in advance they might be able to shuffle stuff around to actually get shit done.
I don't know how much help that would be, or whether I'm good enough, but I would be willing to do another "peak into my work process" sort of post and refer to getting plot sorted out and organised. (that is, once the thing is posted and everything, because anon and such)
And I don't know, maybe have a monthly drabble challenge that can be combined with any other? Like whatever, POV, tense, epistolary style etc.
We could also try to do a thing where we pick a magazine or something that publishes original fic and try to get one or more of us published by writing original fic as a project in here.
--> which would mean, we'd need a workshop on how to do plotty things
--> on how to make worlds or look at our world etc.
--> how to make your own character
Also... again, I'm not sure how much of an authority I am in that field, but we could totally do with an essay or workshop on character development, what constitutes it and what doesn't etc.
I'll try to come up with more stuff, if I find the time. So far though, I love this place. It's beautiful, it's supportive and I feel very much at home here! Thanks for being so wonderful! ♥
