I read this earlier today and oh the ending! It broke my heart but it's not out of place at all, I don't think. I suppose Harry gave up fighting for what he had with Draco a long time ago and I'm of the mind that something like that can become a habit easily. Even though it was pretty difficult to read a Harry that didn't do what I thought was the right thing, I can understanding his fear of being left without the only support he's ever had in life. Most times, I can twist sad endings into hopeful ones but here, I can't seem to and that's a bit heartbreaking. I suppose it's because Harry and Draco seem like history and just, the way you ended... :(

Anyways, there were many things about this that I loved. The seamless shifts between past and present and pensieve memories. It all blended together with some pretty neat transitions. You got across the theme of history repeating itself very strongly. And then there were all the little quirks that I loved, like the photograph with the clue, the texts and the pranks. It was very strange seeing things like pink rooms mixed in with gruesome murders. And that brings me to another thing that I really enjoyed - the mystery. It was brilliantly woven together. The clues were interesting and kept me guessing till the very end even with my top suspect in mind. Thanks!

Thanks so much! I definitely agree with you that Harry can get in the habit of not fighting for Draco - he's so brave in some areas but in love he's not very brave at all. I too like to find hopeful endings but I just couldn't see one in this story, even from day one. Very depressing to write, knowing how it ended! But the ending I had just felt like the one that was coming from the beginning.

I'm glad you enjoyed it! I couldn't resist putting those little things in. And I'm glad you enjoyed the mystery - that was the part I was most nervous to write!

Thanks so much for the lovely review, and my apologies that it's taken me a while to get back to you. :)
