From the characterization to the political drama plot and the slow progression of their relationship. THERE IS SO MUCH TO LOVE. I adore that you didn't make it easy. That there was logic, and STRIFE, and HEART in the story. You didn't go for easy. You didn't have them falling in love at a drop of a hat. You strove to make it believable, and complex, and hard- exactly how love is in real life.
This was truly a grown up story. One where Harry and Draco have both grown older and have changed but they're essence is still there. Their once volatile rivalry has now simmered to a manageable irritation marked by the events that occurred during the war. Here you give us a plausible H/D facing each other again as rivals years down the road.
There are so many lines here that I loved!
"There was nothing accidental about that, mate," Ron snickered, then sobered quickly at Harry's glare. "I mean … Why would he do that?"
"Don't be any thicker than you need to be, Ron," Harry warned.
"Oi!" Ron protested, picking up a strawberry from his plate and tossing it at Harry's head. "Just because you're in a snit, don't take it out on me."
Such a small thing but it depicts h the Harry + Ron friendship that we see in the books perfectly. ♥ And I love how CAPABLE Ron is as well.
And Umbridge? I hated her in this books. You got her DOWN. She pissed me off in this story which of course is a compliment to how well you craft your characters...even the villains.
"Hem, hem."
Oh, please no … Harry turned around and sure enough, there was the toad-like woman Harry abhorred. Dolores Umbridge was standing not three feet from him in a fluffy pink cardigan that, even from this distance, Harry could see was covered in cat hair. The black bow was still in her hair and the smile on her face was simply feral.
She is so infuriating. *laughs*
And your Draco? I loved him madly. His drive to prove his worth and his struggle to remain unmoved by Harry. And then finally his sacrifice in the end? *sighs wistfully* He is a better man that even he knows. You know how I feel about my Draco and you just magnified my love for him 10X.
"The mark of a civilised man is the ability to make his own choices, Harry, and a true Slytherin knows the wisdom of retreat." He smiled. "By withdrawing from a fight I cannot win, I live to fight another day. There will be another seat maybe at a better time, when conditions are a bit more conducive to a win. I can fight then.
So Slytherin. So heartwarmingly Draco.
And Harry? You write Harry like no other. You capture him in a way only few people do. Strong, brash, impulsive, smart, and he lives his life with so much conviction. It's why when he says he'll change the world, people can't help but believe it.
"You know that can't happen, Harry," Draco replied breath coming in short gasps as Harry moved forward and pressed him to the wall of the lift.
"We both know that with all your support thrown my way, I will win this election now, and these days, those seats are for life. It won't matter what people say about me then and if I want you with me, with me you shall be."
How was Draco able to resist?! Hee! Probably cos they're both as stubborn! *laughs*
Thank you for writing. I truly enjoyed this story as you were writing it and now seeing it together pieced as a whole. Our team is so LUCKY to have you. You know you are my sole reason for returning this year. You've always be such an inspiration. ♥ ♥ ♥

I really had a lot of fun writing this, and we've discussed why that was, too, lol. It seems that I am enjoying writing Umbridge as the baddie too much in our ACF and now again here. She's just so much fun to play with because, apart from being so infuriating, she also takes losing so badly. Hahaha. She's actually quite transparent when you look at her, but so much fun to play with.
I adore how you describe my Harry. ♥ That's just how I see him, too. He lives in my head most of the time and I want to grow up to be just like him. Ha!
And Draco...ooh I loved him in this. He tried so hard to do the right thing and still got screwed over. Although, he ended up with Harry in the end, and the couch, lol, so maybe not. :)
Thank you so much lovely, for the gorgeous comment. I ♥ you muchly.
