Summary: After Flourish and Blotts stop stocking the books of Harry’s favourite author, he is directed to a queer bookshop and discovers it’s owned by none other than Draco Malfoy, who has more in common with Harry than either of them realise.
Why I loved it:There were so many good stories in the 2017 HD Erised fest last year. I chose this one to recommend because I just loved the bookstore. And all the pride themes. This is a wonderful get together story. And I just love when Harry is a Healer. I feel like he would have made an excellent healer (if he would have studied enough for it) If you missed it at the fest in December, please check it out.
Excerpt: “Hello,” Harry said, giving Malfoy a polite smile. There were no other customers in the store, and Harry felt a strange sense of homely comfort of being just him and Malfoy together. “I didn’t know you wore glasses!”
Malfoy scowled. “Really? You see me for the first time in a decade and instead of asking how I am, the first thing you point out is my glasses? And they’re reading glasses, for the record.”
As if to emphasise his point, Malfoy plucked the glasses from his face and folded them neatly in the hem of his shirt.
Harry swallowed heavily, eyes instinctively following the path from Malfoy’s sharp collar bones pressing through the thin, grey fabric of his shirt, and down to his lean chest.
“Sorry,” Harry shrugged, not really sorry at all. “Er, I came here for a book, actually.”
“Yes, that’s generally what people do when they come to a bookstore,” Malfoy said with a smirk, relaxing from his previous anger.
