Title: Draco Malfoy, It's Your Lucky Day
Author: faithwood
Rating: NC-17
Word Count: 39,000
Summary:
Even though he's unarmed, injured, lost in the Forbidden Forest, and facing a possible murder charge, Draco Malfoy gets lucky.

Why I loved it:
This fic is so fantastic. It's sweet and hot while also being a delightfully engrossing mystery story. Set during 8th year, Draco and Harry are paired together on a search for potions ingredients in the Forbidden Forest when something goes horribly wrong. Draco wakes to find himself and a badly injured Harry alone and wandless in the snow and cold. Though he can't remember exactly what happened, he assumes they must have dueled and he must have cursed Harry. Desperate to save him, he downs a vial of liquid luck--Felix Felicis--that he had been saving for another purpose. What happens next is the most awesome set of fortuitous choices by Draco that will have you glued to your seat to see how it all works out. Draco is so endearing in his confusion and misplaced guilt and his good faith efforts to save Harry (which Draco keeps trying to convince himself are self-serving) while Potter in his delirium thinks it's all a dream and just wants Draco to shag him! And I just love how intelligently convoluted the whole thing gets: Who did this to them and why? Will Harry remember what happened in the forest and will he hate Draco for it? Why is there a convenient cabin in the woods anyway? And is it all just luck, or can Draco take credit for any of it? Read and find out--it's faithwood so you know you won't be disappointed!

Excerpt:

"Sleep?" Potter echoed before he laughed again. "I think I have that part covered. You can't dream unless you're sleeping."

Draco blinked. "You're not dreaming."

Potter gave Draco a withering look; the kind one would direct at someone who wasn't very bright. "Malfoy, we are alone in a bed, naked, covered with fur, in front of a fire, in a cabin. Of course I'm dreaming." Potter's expression grew pensive. "It's a sad fact that I probably should have listened to the Dursleys when they forbade me to watch the telly. Apparently, we're stuck in a cheesy movie from the eighties. It's vaguely embarrassing."
