Reiko's December Recs #5: The Gingerbread Fic

Title: The Gingerbread Fic*

Summary: Someone is sending Draco gingerbread cookies; he’d like to find out who.
Why I loved it: This fic is really, really nice. It’s just the thing to read to celebrate the holidays. It’s somewhat of an epistolary-fic, and the messages between Draco and his “Secret Santa” are all pretty adorable. Short, but adorable. You have to appreciate just how attentive his “Secret Santa” actually is.
The fic features a very curious Draco, a smitten secret admirer, and a wicked little owl named Tria. There’s also a cute little coda which can be read Here
Excerpt:
'It’s nearly time for everyone to leave for the holiday; tomorrow will be Tria’s last delivery to you. I hope you have a wonderful Christmas. I’m looking forward to the time off classes, but I’ll miss sending you cookies and notes.' There was a large ink blot, and then the words continued. 'I know you’ve said you want to know who I am, and I still want you to know, but I don’t really want to end this-it’s been fun, hasn’t it? I think you’re liking it…and me. But I can’t help but think that you wouldn’t like me half so well if you knew who I was. There was a small splotch on the parchment. I don’t suppose you’d like to keep going until Valentine’s Day? Could you stand to eat gingerbread men until February? Would your Valentine mind that your kisses tasted of gingerbread?'
