Prompts 1 to 72 for the hd_inspired Goes Back to School fest
Prompt 1.
Era: Harry and Draco (any age, can be before or after the final battle, so they either know or don't know the outcome) get hold of a time-turner and go back to Hogwarts when their parents were all in attendance (c.1971).
Additions: Invisibility Cloak, Marauder's Map, something Draco had that we never knew about that enabled him to sneak around or know things others didn't.
Scenario: The time-turner travel was an accident. One of them had it, the other made a grab for it, and it spun them back to 1971. It broke and they got stuck there. While in search of another one to return home, Harry tries to get Draco to convince Lucius not to follow Voldemort. Draco suggests that Harry should convince his parents never to marry. They both war with the fact that they're not supposed to change anything in their past. Author's choice whether they do something intentional or unintentional, but they definitely change something, and they return to find things different than when they left.
Squicks: either of them girly, sweet pet names (unless in jest), non-con/rape, BDSM (light bondage okay), spanking, scat, breathplay, watersports, necro, S&M, torture, etc., anyone else in their bed with them.

Prompt 2.
Era: AU: Founders'-era Hogwarts, with Harry, Draco and all the others born into this time. (I.e. no time-travel, no dimension travel, they aren't supposed to have any contact with the 20th century.)
Additions: Quick and dirty sex in the haystack (if you've seen The Name of the Rose, you know what I mean), secrets revealed and unfolding, era-appropriate lifestyle and beliefs
Scenario: As said, the Founders' Hogwarts: how was life for witches and wizards in the medieval times, when Hogwarts had just been built and the four great wizards and witches accepted its first students.
The school's everyday life, students' activities - I guess it would be based more on the master-apprentice system in the guilds than our days' schools, didn't children work at 11 in those times? I think there wouldn't be subjects and the founders would only teach their own best subjects to their students. (And the Sorting Hat would only take up its office after the Founders' death.) Where did they live inside Hogwarts? (I imagined that the current dormitories were Gryffindor's -et al.- private quarters rather than dormitories, and students would have lived somewhere else. Were there house-elves or not? What would students' tasks entail? Would they ever see their families again after being selected for Hogwarts or would they remain a vassal (or how it's called) to the wizard who allowed them into their house? And if we're there, would there be a magical guild or are we too early for that? Were young wizard apprentices required to do manual labour or work on their Head of House's projects? How did they learn, what spells were there? Did they have wands at the age of 11 or was magic not as structured as in today's education and not every magic required wand and spells. Perhaps young wizards and witches had to earn the right to wield wands - perhaps the poorer families' children couldn’t even afford to buy a wand and they had to make their own wands? Was there a difference between witches and wizards' magical practices? (Did witches have wands and wear robes; were wizards riding brooms and brewing potions?) I bet Ancient Runes wasn’t that ancient in those times either. (And I know JKR doesn’t touch on religion, but if the author wants to include how Muggles view wizards, possibly having a witch exorcised, I wouldn’t mind at all.) Oh, and this is really just a preference, but I don't think that in the beginning, they had teachers other than the four Founders.
These were just ideas, no need to use them all, and of course, there can be deviations because I don't know history that much and I bet I got more than one thing wrong.
The main plot would be about the breach within Hogwarts' walls as Slytherin's views drift further and further away from the others' principles and finally, he is forced to depart. How does his leaving affect his students? (Specifically, how does it affect Harry and Draco's relationship-rivalry-dynamics? Does it create an (even wider) chasm between them or does it bring them together?)
Squicks: OOC-ness - except for the obvious changes because of the AU setting; things that don't reflect the era (e.g. having potatoes for dinner (I don't even want to mention pancakes for breakfast!) or homosexuality being generally accepted - even among wizards);

Prompt 3. CLAIMED FOR FICTION
Era: 6th Year H/D AND 6 years post DH (EWE) AU
Additions: An embarrassing shower scene, a schoolboy fight in adult bodies, a revealing dinner conversation with Ron and Hermione.
Scenario: It's sixth year and Harry is obsessed with Draco and what he's getting up to in the Room of Requirement. Finally he manages to catch Draco about to enter, but they barge through the door together and find themselves in Hogwarts in adult bodies six years after the death of Voldemort. They're guest teachers for a term (author's discretion on their adult professions), and it appears there's more to their 'friendship' than first meets the eye. How do the two 'school aged' boys in adult bodies cope with a post war world and their relationship, and how much of how their world is now is a result of what's happening and will happen when/if they get back into their own bodies and time? AU, time shift consequences but no paradox.
Squicks: No unhappy ending, please. No overly fanon or OOC H/D.

Era: Marauders-era (AU - or in a convoluted way not!AU)
Additions: 6 Marauders instead of 4, collective Snape-baiting, surprise appearance of common sense
Scenario: Harry has an evil twin… called James. Sirius has a cousin who isn’t as bad as the rest of his family, named Draco (he can still be a Slytherin but Harry shouldn't be). Marauders-era mash of every possible twist and turn connected to the "Harry has a twin who is the boy who lived" fandom cliché. I'll leave the rest to the author.

Prompt 7. CLAIMED FOR FICTION
Era: AU; three or four years after HBP
Additions: Politics, Fleur Delacour, a duel (doesn't have to be wizarding).
Scenario: The war has gone international, and Fleur for some (non Veela-related) reason plays a prominent role. Hogwarts is under siege (you could choose which side is occupying the castle) and Draco somehow finds Harry, convinced that he is the only way out of his situation. Work in Draco having a duel, with someone other than Voldemort or Harry. It would be nice if the usual defeat of Voldemort scene was avoided or novel in some way.

Prompt 10. CLAIMED FOR FICTION
Era: late 7th-year AU or post-war AU or EWE
Additions: sex-ed, a huge bowl of ice-cream, a teddy bear
Scenario: Depending on the time frame you'll use they'll either have sex-ed for the first time in their lives in 7ths year. Or Harry and Draco, both teachers, are given the task to give sex-ed. Depending on whether or not you like mpreg they can either just struggle through sex-ed and notice their mutual attraction or they might have had a relationship prior to this and Harry notices that he shows all the symptoms of pregnancy that he's read about in the books.

Scenario: Set in an AU world, the year being some time in the far future. We have magic and some advanced technology. Harry is pretty famous as one of Hogwarts’ best Quidditch players. Draco instead does hovercrafts. They are persuaded among other high school athletes to pose for a charity calendar. They may or may not have known each other previously, but sparks fly during the photoshoot. Would like to see what happens later after the calendar is published (in the form of articles or gossip columns or something)

Scenario: Either Harry or Draco is driving a car when the other stops them at gun point, gets in the car and...basically gets them involved in things that just aren't normal. Things come to a head at Hogwarts (for instance: hidden loot, a secret cult...you get the idea)

Prompt 13. CLAIMED FOR FICTION
Era: 7th year Hogwarts--just before the battle with Voldemort.
Additions: Elder wand, Godric Gryffindor's sword, Salazar Slytherin's locket
Scenario: A time-travel story. Harry is asleep when he is "visited" by Slytherin while Draco gets a visit from Gryffindor. In their dream states, Harry and Draco are told what they need to do to defeat Voldemort. When they wake up in the morning, they don't quite understand their dreams, but Draco knows what he needs to do. Draco switches to the other side, infuriating his Death Eater classmates to the point attempts are made on his life. His parents are nowhere to be found (maybe follow canon here--Lucius would be in prison and Narcissa???) so Draco takes refuge with Harry. After badgering Draco why he switched sides, Draco blurts out that he had a dream about Godric Gryffindor. Harry then shares his dream about Salazar Slytherin, and they realize they are supposed to work together, but still not certain how or why. Harry and Draco continue to receive dream visits from Gryffindor and Slytherin, and are able to prepare for the final battle. Just as Harry kills Voldemort, Harry disappears as does Draco. They have been transported to the past when Slytherin and Gryffindor were still alive. They meet the founders of Hogwarts, learn why they got help from them to defeat Voldemort. In order to get back to present-day Hogwarts after the battle with Voldemort, Harry and Draco need to do rituals (it is okay to use drops of blood, just not major blood-play or use of bodily fluids) that will reinforce the walls of Hogwarts so it will withstand the battle in the future. Their blood is in the walls of Hogwarts. They also find out Gryffindor and Slytherin are married to each other and somehow have been able to have children with each other. Harry and Draco find out they too are destined to be together, like Gryffindor and Slytherin are, but they resist that and it is not until they return to present-day Hogwarts that they give in to fate.

Even though this is a crossover fic of sorts I still want the characters to be themselves (with the exception of the extreme OOC jackie!Hermione) to a certain extent. For example, jack!Harry is still Harry Potter but with the added traits of Jack Harkness (i.e actually immortality and very flirtatious)
Other than that, plot is up to you. I'd just like to see some sort of cracktastic Doctor Who-type plot which draws all the characters to Hogwarts where hilarity ensues!

Scenario: Harry's name is not picked for the Triwizard Tournament, and he gets to watch the events unfold with his friends in safety. Little does he know that Draco is working with Crouch Jr to gain Harry's trust and manipulate him into "rescuing" Cedric during the Third Task, thereby winding up in the graveyard for Voldemort's resurrection. But what happens when Harry really does end up trusting Draco, and Draco starts falling for him?

Prompt 17. CLAIMED FOR FICTION
Era: Seventh Year, one (major) AU change to DH
Additions: the Carrows teaching the Fiendfyre Curse in DADA class, Hand of Glory, night-time Hogwarts corridor
Scenario: Draco finds out about the students hiding in the Room of Requirement, he is torn between supporting or betraying them. He confides in Headmaster Snape, but when Snape does not punish the students Draco surmises he is a double agent. Draco and Harry meet when Harry comes searching for the missing Horcrux. Draco assists the search (how and whether willingly or accidentally is up to the author). Draco and Harry realise their mutual attraction before the Battle of Hogwarts - however which way is fine with me, as long as the story sticks to the crucial canon events. Sex may or may nor occur before the Battle.

Prompt 18.
Era: AU in which Harry chooses Slytherin house at the beginning of Hogwarts and is sorted there. It doesn't have to start there. And yes, I know it's been done before but I can never get enough of Slytherin!Harry.
Additions: Harry and Draco don't have to be OMGBESTBUDS, but I would like to see Draco have the chance for redemption that he never got in the books. I like dark!Harry a lot.
Scenario: I want Harry to have to deal with defeating Lord Voldemort and the problems that go along with it from a Slytherin standpoint rather than a Gryffindor one. I think Harry will still fundamentally be the same person, but there will be some changes. Maybe some people will survive that didn't originally, maybe some will die that didn't.
Squicks: There isn't really a whole lot here besides fluff and PWP. I'm not a fan of either of these things.

Scenario: Finding out Harry Potter has been using his old potions book isn't as terrifying as realizing Potter's been having hissing conversations with the "lost" portrait of Salazar Slytherin. It also isn't as terrifying as finding a dripping wet, sneezing and wheezing Draco Malfoy bleeding all over the Girl's Bathroom. It was however as terrifying as falling in love...and Snape had no idea the two swots would turn to him for help!

Scenario: Removed from Hogwarts Castle after almost killing Draco Malfoy with an unknown spell, Harry putters around Grimmauld Place with Remus Lupin for company. There, they find something useful in the library--well, useful if you're a fellow with questions about love, lust and Draco Malfoy, that is! Visits with snarky, snarling Snape are Harry's only link to Draco Malfoy for a month in which he learns about Horcruxes, the horrible pangs of unrequited love, and the redeeming qualities of snapping grey eyes.

Scenario: Following Draco Malfoy all over the place leaves little time to snog with octopus-hands Ginny Weasley. Harry realizes he'd rather be apart from Ginny more often than not, chasing up and down the halls of Hogwarts after Draco Malfoy. Tripping over a sleepless Snape on one trip, Harry finds out some interesting secrets of the Hogwarts Dungeons, a few involving Crabbe and Goyle's surprising mental processes and Malfoy's wicked wandwork.

Now, Trelawney's dropping scarves all over the place as Malfoy tries to follow Potter around, the Divination Professor's prognostications suddenly sounding like true prophesies. After running into the Hogwarts Ghosts, Malfoy begins planning ways to get Harry to himself...for a talk, really! *snort*

Scenario: Tumbling through the Vanishing Cabinet, Draco Malfoy finds himself in No. 12 Grimmauld Place and at the not-so-tender mercies of Sirius Black. Rushing to his rescue is the unlikely team of Harry Potter and Pansy Parkinson! Raised eyebrows, screaming portraits, and Black secrets make an adventure that opens Draco's eyes to the possibility of a different life.

Era: Au after 5th year
Additions: unusual detention with Snape, dragon(s) , The Founders
Scenario: The Order of the Phoenix gets his hands on another prophecy concerning Voldemort’s defeat and the Wizarding world at large (White/Dark magic). Every light Wizards magic is complemented by a dark Wizards magic (doesn't have to be a supporter of Voldemort only a person who practices dark magic.) The new prophecy says that to defeat Evil, dark and light will have to work together. H & D have to work together, first friendship later love. Would be great if someone discovers a Snape/Lupin established relationship, which later is a model for dark magic corresponding with white magic.

Prompt 31.
Era: 5th year,
Additions: Quidditch, Lucius Malfoy, secret meeting before the game
Scenario: The Quidditch cup is on the line. Harry and Draco dive for the Snitch, the score is all tied up. Lucius is there, witnessing this event. One gets the Snitch, but more is revealed then who the winner is...a lot more. To really get the proper feel of this storyline, watch this video from Sigur Ros. The ending I would pay attention to. I've been wanting to pen something like this for a bit, but want to see someone else's take. Also, I know there isn't much Quidditch in the 5th year, but I leave that up to your judgment to explain.

Era: Harry and Draco (any age, can be before or after the final battle, so they either know or don't know the outcome) get hold of a time-turner and go back to Hogwarts when their parents were all in attendance (c.1971).
Additions: Invisibility Cloak, Marauder's Map, something Draco had that we never knew about that enabled him to sneak around or know things others didn't.
Scenario: The time-turner travel was an accident. One of them had it, the other made a grab for it, and it spun them back to 1971. It broke and they got stuck there. While in search of another one to return home, Harry tries to get Draco to convince Lucius not to follow Voldemort. Draco suggests that Harry should convince his parents never to marry. They both war with the fact that they're not supposed to change anything in their past. Author's choice whether they do something intentional or unintentional, but they definitely change something, and they return to find things different than when they left.

Era: AU: Founders'-era Hogwarts, with Harry, Draco and all the others born into this time. (I.e. no time-travel, no dimension travel, they aren't supposed to have any contact with the 20th century.)
Additions: Quick and dirty sex in the haystack (if you've seen The Name of the Rose, you know what I mean), secrets revealed and unfolding, era-appropriate lifestyle and beliefs
Scenario: As said, the Founders' Hogwarts: how was life for witches and wizards in the medieval times, when Hogwarts had just been built and the four great wizards and witches accepted its first students.
The school's everyday life, students' activities - I guess it would be based more on the master-apprentice system in the guilds than our days' schools, didn't children work at 11 in those times? I think there wouldn't be subjects and the founders would only teach their own best subjects to their students. (And the Sorting Hat would only take up its office after the Founders' death.) Where did they live inside Hogwarts? (I imagined that the current dormitories were Gryffindor's -et al.- private quarters rather than dormitories, and students would have lived somewhere else. Were there house-elves or not? What would students' tasks entail? Would they ever see their families again after being selected for Hogwarts or would they remain a vassal (or how it's called) to the wizard who allowed them into their house? And if we're there, would there be a magical guild or are we too early for that? Were young wizard apprentices required to do manual labour or work on their Head of House's projects? How did they learn, what spells were there? Did they have wands at the age of 11 or was magic not as structured as in today's education and not every magic required wand and spells. Perhaps young wizards and witches had to earn the right to wield wands - perhaps the poorer families' children couldn’t even afford to buy a wand and they had to make their own wands? Was there a difference between witches and wizards' magical practices? (Did witches have wands and wear robes; were wizards riding brooms and brewing potions?) I bet Ancient Runes wasn’t that ancient in those times either. (And I know JKR doesn’t touch on religion, but if the author wants to include how Muggles view wizards, possibly having a witch exorcised, I wouldn’t mind at all.) Oh, and this is really just a preference, but I don't think that in the beginning, they had teachers other than the four Founders.
These were just ideas, no need to use them all, and of course, there can be deviations because I don't know history that much and I bet I got more than one thing wrong.
The main plot would be about the breach within Hogwarts' walls as Slytherin's views drift further and further away from the others' principles and finally, he is forced to depart. How does his leaving affect his students? (Specifically, how does it affect Harry and Draco's relationship-rivalry-dynamics? Does it create an (even wider) chasm between them or does it bring them together?)

Scenario: It's sixth year and Harry is obsessed with Draco and what he's getting up to in the Room of Requirement. Finally he manages to catch Draco about to enter, but they barge through the door together and find themselves in Hogwarts in adult bodies six years after the death of Voldemort. They're guest teachers for a term (author's discretion on their adult professions), and it appears there's more to their 'friendship' than first meets the eye. How do the two 'school aged' boys in adult bodies cope with a post war world and their relationship, and how much of how their world is now is a result of what's happening and will happen when/if they get back into their own bodies and time? AU, time shift consequences but no paradox.

Scenario: A time-travel story. Harry is asleep when he is "visited" by Slytherin while Draco gets a visit from Gryffindor. In their dream states, Harry and Draco are told what they need to do to defeat Voldemort. When they wake up in the morning, they don't quite understand their dreams, but Draco knows what he needs to do. Draco switches to the other side, infuriating his Death Eater classmates to the point attempts are made on his life. His parents are nowhere to be found (maybe follow canon here--Lucius would be in prison and Narcissa???) so Draco takes refuge with Harry. After badgering Draco why he switched sides, Draco blurts out that he had a dream about Godric Gryffindor. Harry then shares his dream about Salazar Slytherin, and they realize they are supposed to work together, but still not certain how or why. Harry and Draco continue to receive dream visits from Gryffindor and Slytherin, and are able to prepare for the final battle. Just as Harry kills Voldemort, Harry disappears as does Draco. They have been transported to the past when Slytherin and Gryffindor were still alive. They meet the founders of Hogwarts, learn why they got help from them to defeat Voldemort. In order to get back to present-day Hogwarts after the battle with Voldemort, Harry and Draco need to do rituals (it is okay to use drops of blood, just not major blood-play or use of bodily fluids) that will reinforce the walls of Hogwarts so it will withstand the battle in the future. Their blood is in the walls of Hogwarts. They also find out Gryffindor and Slytherin are married to each other and somehow have been able to have children with each other. Harry and Draco find out they too are destined to be together, like Gryffindor and Slytherin are, but they resist that and it is not until they return to present-day Hogwarts that they give in to fate.

Scenario: When Wormtail bites Goyle's finger on the Hogwarts Express, Draco's first reaction is to hex Wormtail with a spell. Ron and Harry take Wormtail to McGonagall after the Sorting to find out what Malfoy has done to him, and McGonagall discovers that the rat is Peter Pettigrew, rather than an actual rat. Following Sirius's release and subsequent adoption of Harry, it dawns on Harry just how much he owes Malfoy for that one hex. The author can decide whether the boys become friends, or remain hated rivals after this.

Scenario: Voldemort issues a proposition, either privately to the Ministry, or publicly to the entire wizarding world: that the families of Hogwarts students (Muggle-borns included) will be "safe", if Harry Potter returns for his seventh year to a Hogwarts run by Severus Snape and the Carrows. Scrimgeour, having heard that the Trio had plans to drop out of Hogwarts that year, goes to the Burrow to convince them otherwise.

Gathering the ingredients is just as time-consuming as fighting with Malfoy and his goons, but Harry's a Gryffindor so he'll just push on until the potion is ready to use. And he'll do it all without Hermione's help!
