It was also interesting to see so much important stuff rest on the kids, if you will. Kingsley and Narcissa were around as were some older original characters and peripheral ones, but it was mostly the school kids of Hogwarts, not all that many years later. Stepping up because they had to. I found it refreshing in a way that no one went to Hogwarts, for a change. That Arthur and Molly stayed out of it, there was no sign of Hogwarts professors or staff. (It's interesting to me that many things I often like in a fic were missing here, but it made the fic all the stronger in a way. Good for the holidays, if that makes sense. It seems weird to call this a "light" fic given how much plot there is and how much action and how it's not at all a PWP or a big ball of fluff, but it manages to be a light read while still being plotty and long and excellent. Positivity without going overboard, acknowledging shades of grey without going too dark or light.)
Truly a lovely read.
