Author's Notes: Originally, your gift was to be completely different, a fic based on an idea I’ve had for a long time. Pretty quickly it started to feel like I was trying to fit a square peg in a round hole (pun TOTALLY intended, given the point of this fest ;)) so I took another look at your prompt. I can’t promise that I worked everything in--I know I didn’t--but a few things jumped out at me, and in particular your mention of wishing wells caught my imagination. I tried to work in as many of your other “wants” as possible while still keeping the flow of the story.
This is a pinch-hit, so I maybe didn’t have as much time to write as some others, though I think I got mine earlier than really last-minute people. I’m not saying this as any kind of excuse, just that I hope you’ll forgive any mistakes, and that I hope you enjoy it even though I wasn’t your original gifter. I had a great time writing this and thanks for such a thorough prompt. Also thank you to B, B, and C for reading and advice. Any errors are mine alone.
