completely and utterly brilliant! i love the idea of wizard racing and the entire culture you've created around it. even though i don't enjoy the quidditch commentary in the books, listening to roy and mac was funny [especialy after reading at the end who exactly they were!]. i also loved all the little details, from the ice hotel to guns and handcuffs [!!!], the flying carpet from ikea [LOL], and the flailing sock puppet. harry and draco were most adorable, too, especially in their need to believe in a love potion to finally cave in to their attraction to one another. this is certainly one of the most original h/d fics i've read in a very long time.

Thank you for this comment and also for reccing! ♥

To be honest, I didn't like the Quidditch commentary in the books all that much either, so I thought I should do something different here - hence the actual racing part happened more or less off-screen. ;) And I had fun writing Mac and Roy - it was a real challenge to make them sound a little like they did in canon but not overdo it in order to keep their identities secret until the end. I have a special love for crazy details. *snickers* And the love potion-twist was something I had wanted to write for a long time now. I'm glad you enjoyed it. ^^

AMAZING!!! I love, love, loved the whole idea of professional broom racing in the wizarding world- especially with MacLaggen and Lockhart as the the sportscasters! I personally really enjoy sports commentating, and yours was spot on! Brilliant! I also enjoyed that Draco and Harry weren't really under a love potion at all! Denial is a long river in Egypt, boys! This was a ridiculously enjoyable read. Thank you!

Thank you!

To be honest, those two were more based on the commentators I heard when I used to watch F1 than their canon characterisations but it was fun making those two ends meet somewhere halfway. Denial is also one of the most used clichés, I think, so it was fun to deny denial by way of masking it with inevitablity of a love potion. :P

I love the idea that the love potion didn't exist! Yay! The announcers were hilarious. And the flaying carpet from IKEA--HILARIOUS! I also really enjoyed the Egyptian glyphs as their name! Nice! :)

Thanks. :D

For some reason, IKEA features a lot in my fics. :P I think I just like the hilarity of making up wizarding variants of thoroughly Muggle things. I'm glad you liked the hieroglyphs - I was not sure people wouldn't find them more annoying than funny.

This was utter brilliance!
Everything from the names, the locations (ice hotel FTW!), and the ridiculous little details was as near perfect as I can imagine. Trelawney's cameos were excellent as well.

Great story, lovely build-up, amusing plot, great view into racing culture, and some hot scenes, even in cold places.

Loved it, and can't wait to see who you are!

Thank you! I'm always happy when I see you commenting on my fics. I also really enjoyed reading your rec -- and the summary you gave of the fic.

What should I say? I like weird locations and unexpected turns, and making up new magic and giving weird names to the inhabitants of the wizarding world are probably two of my more annoying hobbies. *G* I'm happy you thought the "sex" scenes were hot - I'm not very good at writing them -- or perhaps I should just stop telling myself that and then I'd get better at it. heh

;)
Does anyone think they write good sex scenes? I suspect we should all just forget about doing them well, and just write them on the theory that more = practic = better. Slightly goofy sex scenes are the best, in my book.
