Pansy watched Potter and Draco twirl about the floor, gazing deeply into each other’s eyes. When she’d thrown Draco at Potter years before, she hadn’t realised they’d end up like this; married, their bonding celebrated by the entire wizarding world as a sign of post-war reconciliation.
She smiled. After the Dark Lord had contaminated their world, their lives, there had been a shadow behind Draco’s eyes, on his soul. Now it was gone, though, Potter’s gift to him, to them.
“Ready to dance, love?” Ron asked.
“Sure,” she replied, smiling up at him. And, being Potter’s friend had benefits, too.
