Around midnight it starts to dawn on you, the grim reality of loving a traitor, and how dangerously daft it was to let him into your home, your bed and finally, your heart.
You fight back tears and prepare yourself for a restless night, your first one without him in seven months.
It's almost daybreak when the loud creaking of the door startles you.
You bolt upright in bed and find yourself looking into tired grey eyes.
"It's done," he says simply. "Severus will meet you tomorrow."
In that moment you realize you were a fool to ever doubt him.
