Challenge: Flashback - Lies
Author's Notes: My, it's been a while; I have a lot of catching up to do over here. (I'm also really pretty mad I wasn't able to be around for this challenge, too). So anyway, I've had this incompleted drabble saved on my computer as "Lies at hd100" for almost a year now, and I'm glad to finally be done with it. It's a little weird and might not make much sense, but look at what I was working from.
__________
And, inside, you know that he’s everything you’ve always wanted to be.
He’s strong in a way you’ll never be. He has the conviction to fulfill his tasks-Death Eaters in Hogwarts, the brink of murder, saving his parents’ lives-and he hides his tears from a world in which his thoughts can get him killed.
Not like you would have done anything, but he couldn’t show his weakness.
He can control his emotions, something you could never do. He couldn’t muster the betrayals, the lies, the threats, to kill the greatest wizard who ever lived, next to his Master.
The original, practially in outline form. SO many sentence fragments.
And inside he’s everything you’ve always wanted to be. Strong in a way you’ll never be, his family behind him, influence to change things (whether for good or ill is a certain point of view). Conviction, strength, persistence, just enough hardheadedness to get what he needs done; Death Eaters in Hogwarts, the brink of murder, saving his parents’ lives. Hate in the name of love, tears to ensure happiness, meant to be private in a world where his thoughts can get him killed. Not like you would have done anything, but he couldn’t show his weakness. He has the strength to control his emotions, something you’ve never had. He couldn’t muster the feelings, the lies, the betrayals, the threats, to kill the greatest wizard who ever lived, next to his Master.
