Green is Slytherin, Christmas, envy, spring, and death. It is the halfway decent dress-robes Pansy owns, and Mother's velvet boudoir. It is the color of Draco's wand sparks at Ollivanders, and of the Malfoy signet ring. It is Father's favorite traveling cloak, and the sticky, mouth-staining, sweet-tart drink only Rosemerta makes.
"Crucio!" Bellatrix screams, and means it. Draco has one instant to blast her off the tapestry in his mind for betrayal of kin.
"Why, Draco?"
He lets himself laugh silently at this panting bitch, who imagines herself a queen.
"Because, Lestrange," he wheezes, "the Dark Lord's eyes aren't green."
