There is nothing left.

The emptied shell at the hill’s crest is lifeless. The willows are kissing the rippling, sun-warmed lagoon, but all he sees through blurry eyes is a vision of desolate neglect.

It should be winter. Evening.

The wind does not whistle over a silver landscape, there is no warmth of a thoroughly non-magical, pine and apple wood scented, roaring fire, and no fragrance of hot, dark chocolate to sweeten his mother’s lips, kissing him goodnight.

“I told you there was nothing left,” says a quiet voice behind him, and Draco falls to his knees.
