Two men walk through a forest of thick trees and green pines when they encounter a bright light. This light is so bright that the boys find themselves shading their eyes. Their surroundings all disappear and they are now in the middle of the desert. They begin their long walk into the desert and are overcome by an overwhelming thirst. They are now searching for springs. As they walk they start to feel the fatigue that hits them. They are almost to the point of surrender when they see a tropical paradise in front of them. They agree that they would put forth all the will power they had left to make it over to the spring. They commence their journey to the spring that only seem so be getting farther away. Rightly so it was moving away, one boy finally collapsed to his knees and said that he couldn’t go on any farther. His companion turns to him and helps him up. Now they were almost there. They noticed that over the horizon was a sand storm that only seemed to be getting closer by the second. They grabbed hold of each other and braced for impact. They were swept off their feet and found themselves on a mountain top. They were terribly scared at this point, not knowing was going on. Now they knew what the worst thing that could happen was. Not being together. They traveled along a path that had been made by previous travelers. They walked and walked yet nothing changed. They longed to be back in the forest where it had all started so they could run away. Now they found themselves contemplating an end to their journey of finding a way back. They find themselves quarreling and it gets to the point where they agree to go their separate paths. As one walks to the East and the other West they don’t see anything else but snow and trees. The man who went to the east finds himself staring into the eyes of a seemingly hungry bear. He panics and instantly wishes that he hadn’t left his companion to the West. While he faces a bear is friend, who went west encounters a vicious pack of wolves. The man to the east picks up a large piece of timber and tries to combat the bear. While the man to the west scales a tree to safety and tries to hide from the wolves which are now circling him. The man manages to scare the bear away with a courageous attack. He lounged at the bear and smacked it as hard as he could in the head, the bear is stunned for a minute, then it let out a terribly horrific cry. The bear then, to the mans surprise got back on all four and walked away. The man in the east is left in a tree until his predators get utterly bored of their lame prey and seek out a thrilling new hunt. They both decided to venture back to each other realizing that they need each other to survive. They meet atop the mountain as they had already done once before and embrace like brothers would. There is a large earthquake and the men make up in the forest. They once again go there separate ways. These two men were two oblivious to realize that the only way they would survive was through each other. However they knew that they could live a short miserable little while without each other, a little while in which they freely explore on their own. They could both experience that freedom while being apart that being together could not provide. Although the man of the West knew that this was wrong he had to follow through with the plan because East was stubborn and unwilling to cooperate any further. Realizing this would come to an end he accepted it and ran from the only thing that could save him.
