Okay...so...I, again, need your help. I have a paper to write... a persuasive essay. And I am just looking for opinions. And again... NOBODY IS ALLOWED TO BASH ANYBODY ELSE FOR THEIR OPINION...NOR IS ANYBODY ALLOWED TO COMMENT ON SOMEBODY ELSE'S COMMENT. I'm with Cat's comment. In a perfect world, I'd be for it. I see no reason to pay to support someone, to pay for their meals, to have to provide medical care for them, and I just don't think that jail is enough of punishment for people who kill & rape and all that stuff. I don't think that a murderer should have basically the same punishment as a drug dealer, just have to stay there for a longer time. Jail is meant to punish and provide rehabilitation, if you've been in and out more then a couple times for serious crimes, you're wasting my time, money and air. Also it's comforting to many of the victims to know that they will never have to see this person again, no appeal can get him out, he can't get parole, he can't break out, so especially when the person has commited a number of heinous crimes, it puts the general population at ease knowing that short of reincarnation, they can rest easy that they'll be safe. I think it's in the back of every violent crime victim's head, as well as any witnesses that testify, what could happen if the person ever got out, legally or illegaly.
