Madball/H2O show

Aug 03, 2003 20:08

So last night I went to see Madball and H2O at the Cricket Club in Irvington,NJ. A bunch of people were supposed to come along, but almost everyone with the exception of Chris backed out.

The line up:

Scraps and heart attacks
None More Black
Madball
H2O

I missed both Scraps and Heart Attacks and None More Black, because we left pretty late and stuff. When we got there Madball has just began their set so we got pretty lucky we got see them.

the skinny:

Madball - As usual, fun and impressive. Freddy Madball is great frontman, because he doesn't just stand there, he moves around all over the stage. They played a fairly short set, because it wasn't their show, but they played a bunch of classics and favorites so it was all good. No fights during their set! I think that's because most of the assholes went to the Life Of Agony show at the birch hill. Kids sang along, did stagedives, and moshed it up, like the way it's supposed to be at a hardcore show. I love madball.

H2O - Last night they made me love H2O all over again. They played tons of old songs as well as songs i never heard them play which was really fucking awesome. Toby ripped on tough guys and was very entertaining. He didn't give any emo speeches or talk about crap that doesn't matter. They opened up with "5 year plan" which had everyone singing along, and they ended the set with "guilty by association" for which Freddy Madball came out and gave Toby a hand. Overall, very energetic and fun set. Some people got into a fight so Toby stopped the song and made those guys look like idiots by telling them that if they want to be tough and beat the shit out of each other they should either go the Life Of Agony show or fight Freddy Madball. Good Stuff. H2O are still a great band and whoever thinks otherwise is basically an ignorant prick.

That is all.
