I love cloth diapers!!!

On Monday and Tuesday of this week, I spaced out the 8 loaner cloth diapers I have over 2 days. It was awesome. Malcolm usually hates having his diaper changed, but for some reason he is really great if I'm changing him into a cloth diaper. It's wild. On Tuesday night he wore cloth overnight and it was absolutely fine - more than fine, really.

I am currently preferring hemp inserts to the microfleece inserts. I am also still liking pocket diapers with a preference for Happy Heiny's (so far). I have cloth wipes on loan as well, but I can't seem to get them to work for me, so I've got my mother checking her house to see if she has an old flannel sheet I can rip up to use instead. The cloth wipes I've got are probably made of microfleece and I can't seem to get them wet. I spray them with water to wipe poop off Malcolm's bum, but the water rolls right off. Weird! I think flannel or T-shirt material (100% cotton) are the way to go here. Caffeine - what do you use for baby wipes? I definitely want to use cloth wipes because disposible wipes aren't even green binable so they go right to the landfill.

I am starting to look into purchasing used cloth diapers and discordian is completely on-board with this. I guess I'll have to let him change a cloth diaper soon, then! But, honestly, it is much easier to change a cloth diaper in our case than it is to change a disposable. The only difficulty is the spatula-worthy poops, but at least those are generally kept to a maximum of 4 per day (and most often only once a day these days). To those of you without children: note that every child's pooping behaviour is different and Malcolm seems to be a bit on the looser side of things.

I washed all the diapers yesterday and have a cloth diaper on Malcolm now while he naps. YAY!

On a different note, it is absolutely beautiful here today. We went to the park this morning and plan on playing outside a whole lot more after naptime. It is sunny with blue sky and the temperature is well into the teens. Looks like spring has finally sprung here!
