I'm not sure why, but I am having difficulty believing that Saddam will be killed by the end of January. Crazy. Maybe this is the first time in my life that I've known much about a person who is being sent to the gallows. I'm not sure how I feel either. Maybe this is my (minor) cold talking/thinking...?

Yeah, I feel funny about it too. Maybe it's because the whole Iraq thing provokes so many mixed feelings.

It seems so brutal. But then, he was a brutal, brutal man. This is how I know I wouldn't want to be a judge. I can't even imagine doing the evil things Hussein did, so how could I imagine a punishment for him? It's probably a huge cop-out for me, but I just need to leave that kind of reckoning up to other people.
